Chapter 186 I’ll Never Let You Off

“I’m not a child anymore,” Noelle whispered shakily. “If Father and Mother find out, they’ll surely stop doting on me. I snuck out of the palace and ended up in such a shameful state. Mother will think I’m utterly disgraceful. If word gets out, my reputation will be ruined forever.”

Margaret patted her back gently. “Don’t be afraid. They’ll never know. As long as we stay silent, no one will find out. All you need to do now is change out of your soiled dress, clean yourself up a little, and put on the things I’ve prepared for you.”

Feeling Margaret’s genuine kindness and lack of malice, Noelle fell silent for a moment before nodding reluctantly.

Even so, she muttered stubbornly, “Don’t think this means I forgive you. You saw me at my most embarrassing moment, and I’ll never pardon you for it.”

“Very well,” Margaret said softly. “As long as you don’t kill innocent people indiscriminately, you never forgiving me matters little.”

With that, Margaret stepped out to fetch a basin of warm water, then went back for a change of clothes.

By the time everything was settled, Joyce had recovered from the numbing effect.

The moment she regained her strength, she stumbled and scrambled up the stairs. “How dare you! I told you not to go in, yet you insisted. You’re dead now.”

She pushed the door open and rushed inside. “Princess Noelle, are you all right?”

Noelle had changed into fresh clothes, her cheeks still flushed. She fidgeted awkwardly with the hem of her skirt. “I’m fine…”

“Princess Noelle, why is your face so hot?” Joyce asked anxiously. “Did Margaret say something disrespectful to you? Don’t be afraid–I’ll always protect you. I’ll call the guards in at once to arrest and execute this insolent woman, and kill everyone downstairs, too.”

Her voice brimmed with killing intent.

Margaret leaned calmly against the doorframe. “Did you manage to figure out how to use them? I can teach you more if anything is unclear. I have plenty more sanitary pads, so you may keep that pack.”

Joyce stared at her in utter bewilderment.

Margaret simply smiled, “I’m just glad you’re all right now. You may head back to the palace if you wish, or stay out and enjoy yourself a while longer. With those supplies, you won’t have anything to worry about.”

Noelle bit her lip, her face growing redder by the second. “How can you speak of such shameful things so casually?”

Margaret said, “As I told you, every woman goes through this. There’s no shame in it at all.”

Joyce listened to their exchange, utterly stunned beyond words.

What on earth happened?

Princess Noelle was screaming to kill everyone a moment ago, yet now the atmosphere is strangely calm.

She asked cautiously, “Princess Noelle, do we still execute the people downstairs?”
