Chapter 281 Booming
Margaret shot Winter a look. “You’re so noisy.”
Winter finally shut her mouth, falling into a chastened silence.
As the two of them walked away, Theodore remained standing in the doorway for a long moment before slipping out of the room.
Meanwhile, Margaret followed Winter to the entrance of the secret tunnel.
The area was swarming with guards.
Timothy sat slumped in a nearby chair, his face etched with exhaustion and regret.

Jasper seemed to have taken a team into the tunnel to search; he hadn’t returned for a while.
After hovering nearby without anyone paying her much attention, Margaret decided to quietly slip out of the Prime Minister’s Estate.
Since Winter was too noisy, Margaret didn’t bring her along. Once outside, she headed straight for her own establishment, Sweet Breeze Dining.
Sweet Breeze Dining was buzzing with activity today. It felt like only a few days had passed since she came here last time, yet the place was already packed, every table taken.
“The chef here is incredible. She’s come up with so many delicious dishes I’ve never tasted before!”
“Absolutely. Yesterday I came by and couldn’t even get a seat. I finally managed to snag one today, only to find out the chef was fully booked. Looks like I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to try her cooking.”
“I wonder where that young chef is from. They say she’s quite young, but her skills are top- notch.”
“No wonder. I heard many wealthy gentlemen have tried to poach her with huge offers, but she refuses to leave. She stays right here, working as a chef.”
“Good thing she’s staying. If she left, where would us common folks get to taste such heavenly food?”
The moment Margaret stepped inside, she was greeted by a chorus of lively chatter.
The ground floor was a sea of people. Making her way upstairs, she found the second floor equally full, not a single empty seat in sight.

Waiters rushed back and forth, too busy to notice her. Not spotting Lisa or the others, and not wanting to interrupt their work, Margaret slipped next door.
The adjacent pharmacy was much quieter. Julie sat inside, quietly studying a medical text. Seeing Margaret, she immediately stood up. “Miss, what brings you here?”
“It’s been a while since I checked in. What’s going on next door? It’s so busy.”
Julie smiled, “Didn’t Lisa tell you? She’s become quite the celebrity chef. Thanks to those recipes you gave her, she’s created all sorts of amazing dishes. The moment they hit the tables, they sell out. Word has spread like wildfire these past few days. Everyone knows the food here is fresh and delicious. No wonder business is booming.”
As she spoke, Julie pulled over a chair. “We were actually planning to come find you about this. Ever since people discovered Lisa’s talent, we’ve had gentlemen lining up trying to hire her as a private chef. She’s turned them all down. From what she tells me, the revenue has multiplied several times over.”
Margaret chuckled. “I never knew she had such a gift.”
“Right? She’s swamped every day, booked solid from morning. Some customers are even offering extra money to secure a reservation with her. At this rate, she’ll soon be able to pick and choose her clients.”
Julie beamed, then added, “Oh, by the way, a gentleman came by earlier asking for you. I told him you weren’t here, so he went upstairs himself, saying you’d show up eventually. I thought he was just talking nonsense, but his luck held–you actually came. Do you want to go up and see?”
“A gentleman?”
Seeing Margaret’s confused face, Julie continued, “Yes, he sounded young. But he was wearing a mask. Couldn’t tell if it was the same gentleman from last time. The mask was different…”
A suspicion formed in Margaret’s mind. She walked silently upstairs.
It was the same treatment room where she had previously administered acupuncture to Keith. As she entered, she saw him standing by the window.
“So it’s really you. How did you know I’d come here?” she asked.
Keith stood by the window. “I happened to see you heading this way. Figured you might stop in, so I came up to wait.”
Gazing out at the bustling street below, he continued, “Have you decided to stay in Breston after all?”

Margaret paused, recalling their last conversation. A touch of helplessness washed over her.
All that talk about playing along and making a clean escape.
And yet, in just two days, her plans had changed again.
“Yes,” she replied simply, giving a slight nod.
Keith said, “Last time we spoke, you were planning to go along with their scheme and then slip away. What made you…”
“You already know, don’t you?”
Keith fell silent for a moment before saying, “Yes. Prince Theodore’s proposal… it’s an offer few women could refuse. It’s only natural you’d choose to stay for him.”
For some reason, saying those words left a faint, sour taste in his mouth.
In truth, he hadn’t just happened to see Margaret coming this way.
