Chapter 321 She’s Dead
Timothy added, “Send more people to search the base of the cliffs. We must find Margaret at all costs.”
**
Within moments, the precipice was deserted save for Christopher and his retinue.
Dawn’s light crept across the sky, yet a thick fog seemed to cloud his mind.
The events of the night felt unreal, like a vivid nightmare from which he couldn’t wake.
“Your Highness, everyone else has left. Shall we depart as well?” Roy ventured, breaking the heavy silence.
Christopher snapped back to reality. “Why are you all just standing there? Get down there and search! I want her found, alive or dead!”
The guards scattered instantly.
Roy hesitated. “But so many are already looking, perhaps we-”
“I’m going down myself! Take me there now!” Christopher’s voice cracked, a tremor betraying his composure. “She’ll be fine. She has to be. Last time she fell from here and was unharmed. This time will be no different…”
An ache squeezed his chest, a raw panic he didn’t understand, far more acute than the exasperation he’d felt during Margaret’s previous stunt.
In his eyes, that had been a reckless game.
This? This was a tragic accident.
By the time his men managed the arduous descent, the scene below was chaotic.
A crowd had gathered around a dark, wet patch on the ground. Their grim faces spoke volumes.
Jasper knelt nearby, weeping openly, while servants and guards combed the area with frantic urgency.
Christopher demanded, his voice unsteady as his chair was pushed forward, “What’s happened? Where is Margaret? She was found near here last time. Where is she?”
Roy returned from speaking with a guard, his expression somber. “Your Highness… it appears her chances are slim.”
“What are you saying?” Christopher’s eyes blazed.
Gritting his teeth, Roy delivered the report. “The first search party found a pool of fresh blood up ahead. The spatter pattern suggests… a high–velocity impact.
“They also spotted what looks like a severed arm caught in a tree halfway up the cliff face. Given the sheer drop and the relentless, sharp rocks that line it… she likely struck those outcrops repeatedly on the way down. There would have been no chance for her body to remain… intact.”

Chapter 321 She’s Dead
Finished
Christopher stared ahead, paralyzed by a cold, dawning horror.
The arrival of another party shattered the tense quiet.
Exhaustion etched deep lines onto Theodore’s face as he arrived, dark circles stark beneath his eyes that were fixed intently on Roy.
“What are you all saying?” His voice cut through the air.
At the sound, everyone in the room dropped to their knees.
Roy bowed his head, too terrified to make a sound.
A sharp pang twisted in Christopher’s chest. “So Uncle Theodore, you finally decided to show up.”
No sooner had the thought formed than a figure blurred into motion, rushing toward him. A hand clamped viciously around his throat.
Veins bulged on Theodore’s forehead. “I asked what you were saying,” he growled, his voice dangerously low.
Gasping for air, Christopher struggled against the iron grip, forcing out choked words. “You heard… perfectly well. Margaret… fell from the cliff. She’s dead…”
