Chapter 35 Are You Trying to Humiliate Me?
Jasper stared at Christopher, completely dumbfounded.
Finished
This is unbelievable. Crown Prince Christopher is incredibly generous. This whole page–is all of this really just for Stella?
These gifts look like they’re meant for two brides,
He shot Margaret another look.
Margaret didn’t react at all.
But the crowd had already erupted,
Servants inside and out were blown away by the gift list.
“Crown Prince Christopher is so generous! All those gifts–Ms. Stella Campbell is so lucky…”
“Shouldn’t some of this be for Ms. Campbell, too?”
“Are you serious? Has Crown Prince Christopher even mentioned Ms. Campbell?”
“Exactly. He hasn’t looked at her once since he got here.”
“I think he’s giving both engagement shares to Ms. Stella Campbell…”
“Ms. Stella Campbell is the most beautiful woman in Breston, With the way Ms. Campbell looks. any man would prefer Ms. Stella Campbell, right?”
“Great heroes belong with great beauties. Crown Prince Christopher and Ms. Stella Campbell standing together–they look perfect.”
Maybe because Margaret still wasn’t doing anything, Jasper finally spoke up. “Crown Prince Christopher, actually, Margaret has something to say today.”
He shot Margaret a sharp glare.
Get over here and apologize. Now.
Christopher finally turned to look at her. His eyes were full of pride.
He stared down at Margaret like he already knew the ending.
She’s going to beg. This is her last chance.
If she doesn’t take it, she’ll lose me for good.
Margaret smiled–like she didn’t care at all. “Jasper must be confused,” she said. “Tin just here to watch the show. I’ve got nothing to say.”
Jasper’s face went stiff. He looked like he was choking on blood.

Finisher
Christopher was furious,
“Margaret,” he said through his teeth. “are you sure you have nothing to say?”
Margaret shrugged. “Today is Crown Prince Christopher and Stella’s happy day. What could I possibly have to say?”
Christopher glared at her, boiling with rage.
Fine.
Still playing hard to get, even now?
“Fine,” he said coldly. “Yes, today is about Stella and me. Good that you have nothing to say.”
He reached down and gently took Stella’s hand. “I’m standing here to tell you this–no matter how hard you try to stop us, Stella will always be the one I love. No matter what tricks you pull behind my back. I’m not afraid of any obstacle. I was going to leave you some dignity. But today, you’ve shown me you don’t value it. Don’t blame me for being cruel later.”
His eyes stayed locked on Margaret. “I declare this now, in front of everyone. Next month, I will personally come to marry Stella. She will be the Crown Princess.”
The crowd erupted.
But Christopher never looked away from Margaret. He spoke slowly, each word deliberate. “And every engagement gift you see here–every single one–is for Stella alone. None of it has anything to do with you, Margaret.”
Margaret’s expression stayed calm.
But deep inside, something twisted uncomfortably.
Jasper dropped one knee. “Please, Crown Prince Christopher, he begged, “take back that decision. Margaret is just being stubborn. She’s dreamed of marrying you for years. She-”
“Really?” Christopher cut him off eagerly..
He stared straight at Margaret. “Margaret, I’ll give you one chance to say it yourself. If you change your mind right now–get on your knees and bow your head to the ground–I’ll forgive you one last time. No matter what schemes you’ve pulled before. You can still marry alongside Stella. You’ll split the gifts evenly,”
Jasper quickly said. “Thank you, Crown Prince Christopher, for your generosity.”
Then he turned to Margaret. “Margaret, get on your knees. Now”
