CHAPTER 151 PART 2
Miguel frowned, thinking. “The Willson Building… it’s been abandoned for what, fifteen years? Maybe twenty? Prime location in the financial district, but nobody’s touched it. There are rumors about why-some say structural issues, some say legal complications. I’ve heard at least five different development companies tried to acquire it over the years, but every deal fell through.”
“Because it was never actually for sale,” Marcus said. “The real owner kept it off the market deliberately, waiting for the right moment.”
“And you know who the real owner is?”
Marcus smiled. “I am the real owner.”
Miguel’s cigarette dropped from his fingers. “You… what?”
“The Willson Building has been mine for years,” Marcus explained. “Held through a shell corporation, hidden from public records. I’ve been waiting for the right time to use it.”
“But that building must be worth-”
“Billions,” Marcus confirmed. “Once it’s properly developed. Prime location, historical significance, enough space to house a major corporate headquarters. It’s perfect.”
Miguel stood, pacing again. “Okay, let’s say you develop it. Turn it into something impressive. That still doesn’t solve the fundamental problem-the business environment here is locked down. You can’t just start a company and expect to compete with established giants.”
“Why not?”
“Because they’ll crush you!” Miguel’s frustration was evident. “They control the supply chains, the distribution networks, the regulatory boards. They have relationships with every major client, every investor. An upstart trying to break in would be strangled in the cradle.”
“Unless that upstart has something they can’t match,” Marcus said calmly.
“Like what?”
“Me.” Marcus’s dragon aura flared briefly, making the air feel heavy. “And everyone who follows me. Miguel, you’re thinking too small. You’re imagining a traditional company trying to compete using traditional methods. That’s not what I’m building.”
“Then what are you building?”
Marcus walked back to his chair, sitting with casual authority. “An organization that operates on different rules. Where loyalty isn’t bought with money but earned through respect and power. Where decisions are made by capability, not connections. Where those who contribute are rewarded, and those who betray are destroyed.”
Miguel listened, his expression shifting from skepticism to something closer to understanding-and fear.
“You’re not talking about a business,” he said slowly. “You’re talking about a new power structure. A revolution.”
“If that’s what it takes,” Marcus agreed.
“Boss… that’s war. All-out war with every established force in the province.”
“Yes.”

“They’ll fight back with everything they have. Money, politics, violence-nothing will be off the table.”
“I’m counting on it.” Marcus’s smile was cold. “Because when they come at me with everything, and I’m still standing at the end, there won’t be any doubt left about who really rules Five-River Province.”
Miguel sat back down, his mind racing. “The Willson Building as headquarters. A new organization built on merit and power instead of old connections. Openly challenging the established order…” He laughed suddenly, a slightly manic sound. “You’re either a genius or completely insane. Maybe both.”
“Probably both,” Marcus acknowledged. “But I’ve never failed yet.”
“There’s always a first time.”
“True.” Marcus’s dragon eyes gleamed with confidence. “But not this time. Not in this city. Not against these people.”
A soft knock interrupted them. Dr. Harrison entered, looking exhausted but less grim than before.
“She’s stable,” he announced. “The poison levels are dropping, her vitals are strengthening. I… I don’t understand it, but she’s actually recovering faster than should be medically possible.”
“Told you she’d survive,” Marcus said simply.
The doctor shook his head in amazement. “Whatever she is, she’s not normal. I’ve never seen anyone bounce back from that kind of trauma so quickly.”
