CHAPTER 39 PART 1
Richard Ridge staggered to his feet, his face purple with rage and humiliation. “You DARE lay hands on me? Do you know who I am? I’m Richard Ridge! Ridge Technologies-”
Flynn’s backhand caught him across the face with devastating force.
The sound of the impact echoed through Azure Breeze Restaurant like a gunshot. Richard’s body actually lifted off the ground, spinning in mid-air before crashing into a decorative column ten feet away. He slid down, leaving a smear of blood, his face already swelling, his expensive glasses shattered.
“RICHARD!” Miranda screamed, rushing toward her husband. But she stopped halfway, her survival instincts finally overriding her outrage. She whirled on the restaurant staff instead. “Security! SECURITY! This establishment is harboring criminals! I demand you shut this place down immediately! Call the police! We’re pressing charges!”
Two security guards appeared in the private room’s entrance, their hands moving toward their radios-then freezing when they saw the tableau before them.

The guards remained frozen, looking to each other for guidance neither possessed.
Miranda’s outrage reached new heights. She stormed toward Flynn, her designer heels clicking on marble, her face twisted with entitled fury.
“You listen to me, you street trash! I don’t care what connections you think you have! The Ridge family will destroy you! We’ll have you in prison! We’ll ruin your life! You’ll regret ever-”
Flynn’s hand moved faster than most people could track.
SLAP!
The blow caught Miranda across the face with enough force to spin her completely around. She crashed to the floor in an ungraceful heap, her expensive dress tangling around her legs, her carefully styled hair coming loose.
Blood trickled from her split lip. Her cheek was already turning purple. She lay there, stunned, unable to process that someone had actually hit her-her, Miranda Ridge, who’d never faced physical consequences in her entire privileged life.
The restaurant went absolutely silent. Waiters froze mid-service. Other diners in nearby rooms peered through doorways. The security guards stood like statues, unwilling to intervene in what was rapidly becoming something far beyond their authority.
Flynn stood over Miranda, his scarred face twisted with genuine murderous intent. “You dare scheme against the
