CHAPTER 46 PART 1
Sonny Ridge pushed himself up from the cracked wall, blood dripping from his mouth, his cultivation energy completely scattered. But instead of accepting defeat, rage and desperation twisted his features into something ugly.
“Nobody leaves!” Sonny roared, gesturing to his men. “Lock the doors! This bastard cheated somehow-I don’t know how, but he did! And he’s not walking out of here with my money!”
His six enforcers moved immediately, spreading out to block exits. Several pulled out weapons more openly now –knives that gleamed under the bar’s lights, brass knuckles that promised broken bones.
The crowd shifted nervously. This wasn’t just entertainment anymore. This was about to become violence, and they were trapped in the middle of it.
Marcus stood in the center of the makeshift ring, his expression carrying contempt rather than concern. “You’re really going to do this? In front of all these witnesses?”
“I don’t care about witnesses!” Sonny spat blood. “You think any of these people are going to testify against the Three Blade Group? They know better!”
“Actually,” Marcus said, his voice carrying clearly across the silent bar, “I think they’ll talk plenty. Because you’re not just cheating me—you’re destroying Black Wind Bar’s reputation. The one thing that makes this place special.
He gestured to the crowd, many still recording on their phones. “Every elite in Grayson City comes here because they trust the rules. Fair play. Safe environment. Bets honored. But if word gets out that the deputy manager welches on bets when he loses? That he threatens customers and steals their winnings?”
Marcus let the implications hang in the air.
“This place will be empty within a week,” Marcus continued. “No more wealthy clients. No more high-stakes games. No more reputation. And when the Three Blade Group’s bosses find out you destroyed their most profitable establishment because your pride couldn’t handle losing a drinking contest…”
Sonny’s face went from red to pale as the reality sank in. He was right. If this got out-and with this many phones recording, it would definitely get out-Black Wind would lose everything. And the Three Blade Group didn’t forgive members who cost them money.
“You… you…” Sonny couldn’t form words, caught between rage and dawning fear.
“Pay what you owe,” Marcus said simply. “Honor the bet. Or destroy everything you’ve built here. Your choice.”
“The HELL with that!” Sonny’s rage overrode his survival instincts. He turned to the crowd, his voice rising desperately. “Everyone OUT! Get out of my bar! NOW! This is Three Blade Group business!”
Several patrons started moving toward exits, but his own enforcers were blocking them. The situation was deteriorating rapidly-trapped guests, armed thugs, a deputy manager having a complete breakdown.
Then a new voice cut through the chaos.
“I don’t think so.”
Everyone turned to see a young man in an impeccably tailored suit pushing through the crowd. He was perhaps twenty-five, with aristocratic features and the kind of confident bearing that came from generations of power and wealth. Several people in the crowd recognized him immediately and whispered his name with a mixture of respect and fear.

Atlas Lancaster. Scion of the famous Lancaster family, one of Grayson City’s most influential young masters.
“Atlas!” Sonny’s expression shifted to something approaching relief. “Perfect timing! This man-Marcus Steel- he’s been causing trouble all night! Cheating at drinking contests, assaulting me-‘

CHAPTER 46 PART 2
“I witnessed everything,” Atlas interrupted, his voice carrying absolute authority. His eyes swept the bar, noting the recording phones, the nervous crowd, the armed enforcers. “From the moment Mr. Steel issued his first challenge until the fight just now. Everything was above board.”
“But-“Sonny started.
“Everything,” Atlas repeated, his tone hardening. “Mr. Steel won the drinking contest fairly. You challenged him to a fight with specific stakes. He accepted. You struck first. He defended himself and won decisively.” He stepped closer to Sonny, and despite being younger and less physically imposing, the weight of the Lancaster family made Sonny actually take a step backward.
“The Black Wind Bar’s reputation depends on honoring such bets,” Atlas continued. “My family has invested considerable resources in maintaining this establishment’s standing. If that reputation is damaged because you can’t accept a legitimate loss…”
The threat was clear. The Lancaster family’s displeasure could end careers, destroy businesses, and make problems disappear-along with the people who caused them.
Sonny looked around wildly, seeking support, but found none. The elite guests who’d been watching the spectacle were now nodding in agreement with Atlas. Some were even calling out:
“He’s right! The bet was fair!”
“Pay what you owe, Ridge!”
“Don’t destroy Black Wind’s reputation over your wounded pride!”
Even some of Sonny’s own men looked uncertain now, recognizing that their boss was about to cross a line that would bring consequences far worse than tonight’s humiliation.
Marcus walked calmly toward Sonny, his dragon eyes glowing faintly. “You made a bet. You lost. Now you pay the price we agreed on. Fifty million dollars and both hands.”
“I… I don’t have fifty million in cash!” Sonny’s voice cracked. “That kind of transfer takes time!”
“Then transfer it now,” Marcus said. “You have your phone. Make it happen.”
Sonny’s hands shook as he pulled out his phone, but instead of opening his banking app, his fingers hovered over
a different number. His eyes darted to his enforcers, calculation replacing desperation.
“Or,” Sonny said, his voice taking on false confidence, “my men can kill you right now, and I keep everything. Including my hands.”
Marcus’s expression didn’t change. “Dom.”
Dominic Martinez stepped forward immediately, cracking his knuckles. “Ready when you are, boss.”
“Collect what we’re owed,” Marcus ordered calmly. “And make sure Brother Ridge here pays the other part of the bet. Both hands. As promised.”
Sonny’s face twisted with fury. “You think you can just take my hands? Do you have ANY idea who you’re dealing with? KILL THEM! Kill them both! Everyone who saw anything tonight-KILL THEM ALL!”
His enforcers hesitated for just a moment-long enough to show they knew this was insane-then moved forward, weapons raised, committed to their boss’s orders despite the obvious disaster unfolding.
