The five remaining bodyguards charged simultaneously, their coordination professional, their cultivation techniques flaring with visible energy. Golden light surrounded fists, silver aura enhanced speed, bronze shields formed around vulnerable points-these weren’t street thugs. These were elite guards who’d trained for years.

Marcus stood still, hands in his pockets, watching them approach with mild interest.

The first bodyguard reached him, delivering a devastating punch backed by years of Iron Fist training. Marcus simply shifted his shoulder slightly. The punch glanced off harmlessly, and Marcus’s shoulder drove into the man’s chest with casual force.

Ribs shattered. The bodyguard flew backward fifteen feet, crashing into a carnival game booth.

“He’s using his SHOULDER to fight?” someone in the crowd gasped.

The second and third bodyguards attacked from both sides, trying to pin Marcus between them. He pivoted on one foot, and his other foot swept out in a lazy arc. It caught the first guard in the knee-bone splintered audibly- then continued upward to strike the second guard’s jaw.

Both men collapsed, their cultivation techniques completely useless against Marcus’s dragon-enhanced physicality.

“He’s not even using his hands!” another spectator whispered, phone recording everything.

The fourth bodyguard tried a grappling technique, attempting to lock Marcus’s arm. Marcus simply flexed, and the man’s grip shattered along with several finger bones. A casual elbow strike sent him sprawling.

The fifth and final bodyguard hesitated, watching his colleagues writhing in pain, understanding dawning that he was catastrophically outmatched.

“Last chance to walk away,” Marcus offered pleasantly.

The bodyguard looked at Quamaine Potter, seeking permission to retreat, Potter’s face was purple with rage and disbelief.

“ATTACK HIM!” Potter shrieked. “I don’t care if you die trying!”

The bodyguard charged with desperate courage. Marcus’s foot swept his legs out, then came down on his back as he fell, pinning him to the boardwalk with enough force to crack wood.

Total engagement time: forty-seven seconds.

Quinn stood frozen, her Saintess senses overwhelmed. The power flowing through Marcus wasn’t cultivation as she understood it. It was older, more primal, operating on frequencies that made her divine training seem like kindergarten compared to university.

What is he? The question screamed through her consciousness. What have I actually married?

Quamaine Potter stared at his destroyed bodyguards, his mind unable to process what he’d just witnessed. He was one of the Four Young Masters of Five-River Province. People literally trembled when he entered rooms. His family’s power extended across multiple cities. He’d never-in his entire pampered life-faced genuine

consequences.

Until now.

Marcus walked toward him with unhurried steps. “You wanted me to kneel? To apologize to Riley Ridge? To show

proper respect for your status?”

“I… I am Quamaine Potter!” Potter’s voice cracked. “My family will destroy you! My father knows governors! My connections-”

SLAP!

Marcus’s hand caught Potter across the face with devastating precision. Blood sprayed from Potter’s split lip. His head snapped sideways. He stumbled, would have fallen if Marcus hadn’t grabbed his designer shirt.

“Your connections mean nothing to me,” Marcus said coldly. “Your family’s power is irrelevant. Because you made one catastrophic mistake today.”

CHAPTER 52 PART 2

He pulled Potter close, dragon eyes blazing. “You insulted a Sacred Saintess. You demanded her husband kneel before you. You thought your status gave you the right to humiliate people without consequences.”

Another slap, harder this time. Potter’s nose shattered, blood gushing down his expensive clothes.

“So here’s what’s going to happen,” Marcus continued, his voice carrying across the silent crowd. “You’re going to get on your hands and knees. You’re going to crawl around this boardwalk. And you’re going to bark like a dog. Loudly. For everyone to hear.”

Potter’s eyes went wide with horror. “You… you can’t be serious…”

“Either you crawl and bark,” Marcus said pleasantly, “or I break both your legs and make you do it anyway. Your choice.”

“My family will KILL you!” Potter sobbed. “Do you understand? The Potter family will hunt you down! They’ll destroy everyone you love! They’ll—”

Marcus twisted Potter’s arm behind his back. Something popped. Potter screamed.

“Crawl. And. Bark.”

The devil incarnate of Five-River Province, the man who’d never been told “no” in his entire life, dropped to his hands and knees on the dirty boardwalk.

“Louder,” Marcus commanded. “I want everyone in this park to hear you.”

“WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!” Potter’s voice carried pure humiliation and pain, his pride shattered as thoroughly as his

nose.

The crowd was silent, phones recording every moment. This would be viral within hours-Quamaine Potter, feared young master, reduced to barking like a dog in a public park.

Marcus pulled out his own phone, recording up close. “Smile for the camera, Young Master Potter. Your family will want to see this.”

“Please,” Potter begged between barks, “please stop…”

“Keep going,” Marcus ordered. “Crawl around that fountain. Make sure everyone gets a good view.”

Potter crawled, barking, blood and tears mixing on his face. The mighty Potter family’s heir, utterly destroyed.

Riley Ridge, who’d been trying to slip away through the crowd, suddenly found Marcus’s gaze on him.

“Riley,” Marcus said pleasantly. “Where are you going? You started this. Don’t you want to participate?”

“I… I didn’t mean…” Riley stammered, backing away.

Marcus’s hand shot out, grabbing Riley by the collar despite the distance that should have made it impossible. Dragon-enhanced speed closed the gap in an eyeblink.

“Your turn,” Marcus said. “On your knees. Crawl and bark. Or I break something important.”

“Please!” Riley’s voice rose to a shriek. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t have brought Potter! I shouldn’t have

Marcus broke Riley’s pinky finger with casual precision. “Crawl. Bark. Now.”

Riley dropped immediately, crawling beside Potter, his barks mixing with sobs. Two wealthy, entitled young men reduced to performing animals for the crowd’s entertainment.

Quinn watched her husband orchestrate this public humiliation with calculating precision, and felt her Saintess intuition screaming confirmations she’d been denying for months:

This is who he actually is. This power. This authority. This absolute certainty.

You didn’t marry beneath your station. You married so far above it that you couldn’t even perceive the difference.

In the crowd, partially hidden behind a group of tourists, a figure in a baseball cap recorded everything on a professional camera. Not just phone footage-high-quality video that captured every detail, every moment of Potter’s humiliation.

The footage would be edited, uploaded, spread across social media within hours. #PotterBarks would trend. The devil incarnate of Five-River Province would become a joke. And the Potter family-one of the most powerful in the region-would learn that their precious son had been utterly destroyed by a man they’d never heard of.

Marcus finally released both men, letting them collapse on the boardwalk, broken and humiliated.

“If either of you ever crosses my path again,” Marcus said quietly, “I won’t be this merciful. Do you understand?”

Both men nodded frantically, too terrified to speak.
