Lucian’s POV

The elders had sent down their decision weeks ago, an unbendable order. I was supposed to come to Redcape and carry out my duty, but something stronger than fate kept me here for what was about to unfold. I had no idea then, but I was meant to witness this.

“She severed the bond with powerful magic,” she said, her voice calm but laced with a kind of finality that made my stomach twist. “Someone of great power put up a complete block between you all and her. You won’t feel her anymore, and she won’t feel you. It’s far more merciful than what your elders had in mind for her.” She gave a faint smile, almost as if she was trying to soften the blow.

Maxwell’s voice broke as he asked, “So…what are you saying?”

“Scarlett has freed herself from you three. She’s let you go,” she replied, her eyes glinting with something like sadness. “And if I were her, I wouldn’t come back either. I’ve learned everything, and I know she was innocent. She didn’t deserve what happened to her.”

She looked each of us in the eye, her gaze both piercing and sympathetic. “I’d advise you all to move forward. Whatever lies ahead, it’s something you’ll need to face without her. Perhaps, if you can show that you’ve changed, the goddess might grant you each another chance, a new mate…”

But before she could finish, Vin stepped forward, and something shifted. None of us saw it coming, but Clay suddenly transformed, his wolf surging forward, snarling. I felt my own anger flaring, my body tense and ready to follow his lead. She didn’t flinch, though. Her eyes locked onto us with an almost defiant calm.

“What do you even want from me?” she asked, her voice a challenge.

“Just tell us where she is,” Maxwell demanded, his voice a raw mix of desperation and anger. “None of us have any intention of moving on.” Tiger and Vin let out low, mournful howls, filling the air with a pain I could feel in my bones.

She gave a sad, almost pitying laugh. “It’s noble to be romantic, but don’t you think it’s too late? You’d do better to save your strength for what’s coming.

There’s a darkness approaching, something terrible, and if you want any hope of survival, you’ll need to be strong. You’ll need the Alpha of the West by your

side if you’re to make it through. My advice? Go back and prepare. evil is rising from the South, closer than ever.”

Her eyes returned to normal, and she took a deep, shuddering breath, clearly drained by whatever force had been speaking through her. We just stood there,

Where had all of this come from? The visions, the warnings–they felt like the last nails in a coffin we hadn’t realized was already closed.

“I’m coming with you to Redcape. That’s why my bags are packed,” she said, her voice steady and resolute. “Finding your missing mate is only a small part of what lies ahead. We have a lot of work to do, and you’ll need to seek an alliance with the Alpha of the West. I have a feeling that’s where your paths are truly meant to lead. He’s the only one who remains neutral in all of this.” She stood, lifting her bags, signaling it was time to move.

We rose as well, each of us tense yet resigned. I felt Tiger, my wolf, retreat into the back of my mind, his anger subdued, his determination tempered by the gravity of what lay ahead. I saw Vin take a similar stance; the wild fury in Clay’s eyes softened, his claws retracting, his gaze becoming sharp and clear once

more.

As we prepared to leave, a strange, bittersweet comfort settled over me. Scarlett was alive somewhere, I could feel it. But Elsa’s words, filled with prophecy and warning, only fueled my determination to find her. There was no way I would let her go, not after everything we’d been through. She had been wronged,

A fierce promise flared inside me. Fram now on, no matter what crimes they pinned on her, no matter what the world said, I would stand by Scarlett. If she was accused. I’d bear her guilt beside her. If they hunted her, I’d shield her with my life. If they dared kry to shame her, I would silence them.

Scarlett was ours–our mate, our heart, our fate. She was the center of us all, the soul we’d built our lives around. We had given up so much, sacrificed everything, in the name of duty and honour for our people. But now, I understood what that sacrifice had truly cost, the toll it had taken on our very souls.

I only hoped that I wasn’t too late. That fate would still give me one last chance to bring her back, to reclaim the bond we had nearly destroyed. And as we set off for Redcape, I silently vowed that no force–no prophecy, no power, no enemy–would keep me from fulfilling that promise.

I guess scarlets secret strength as well as keith r going to be needed. how will they convince them to join in an alliance now that keith is falling in luv with scarlett.
