Chapter 44
Scarlett’s POV
٠ل
As we drove into a valley surrounded by the towering Rocky Mountains, I felt my breath catch. The sky was a deep blue, scattered with clouds so white they looked painted, and the snow blanketed the rocks and trees in a breathtaking winter scene
“I thought you said this was an ugly place,” Clay teased, nudging me with a smirk that made me laugh and blush in embarrassment I’d said those words in a moment of frustration, of sadness, and he’d remembered.
Gently, he placed a comforting hand on my thigh, a small gesture that grounded me. “Don’t worry, Scarlett,” he said, his voice gentle. “I knew you were hurting then. You had every reason to feel that way. We were unfair to you, and I wish we could do it over If we could change the past, I would in a heartbeat.”
His words hung in the air, a mixture of apology and unspoken promises, and I felt a of

in
my mind,
When I looked back, a magnificent white wolf stood in front of me, tall and proud. He was stunning–an ethereal blend of strength
and grace, his fur gleaming against the snowy landscape.
“Vinn?” I asked, captivated, and he responded with a howl before nuzzling me. A warm affection spread through me as he linked,
“Mate.” I kissed his nose, savoring the softness of his fur, and he let out a soft rumble, the kind of sound that conveyed his delight.
“Climb,” he linked, lowering himself so I could easily get onto his back. I quickly gathered Clay’s clothes, the picnic items, and
mounted Vinn’s back. His fur was silky and luxurious, a warmth against my palms that made me want to run my hands through it
endlessly.
“You want me to shift back to human and take you?” he teased, his tone mischievous, and I felt a blush creep into my cheeks. Even
though he couldn’t see it, I knew he could feel my reaction.
“Just kidding, Scarlett,” Vinn reassured, his tone gentler. **You can touch my fur as much as you like. I am yours.”
His words made my heart flutter, filling me with a powerful sense of belonging. Being mated to three Valkin Alphas seemed like an
impossible dream, one that had felt more like a curse until now. But in this moment, riding up the mountains on Vinn’s back,
surrounded by his warmth and trust, I felt something precious–a quiet but growing hope. If our bond continued to strengthen, if we
could leave behind the bitterness and pain, this could be a life of envy, a life filled with love and loyalty.

Vinn carried me up the rugged path, I closed my eyes briefly and offered a silent prayer to the goddess, asking for her guidance and her blessing on this fragile but hopeful journey with my mates.
When we reached a scenic spot on the mountain, the view stretched wide and breathtaking before us, surrounded by snow–capped peaks and a calmness that felt rare and precious. I slid off Vinn’s back, and he shifted seamlessly back to Clay. Despite my fondness for Clay, I couldn’t help but wish Vinn had lingered a little longer. His presence felt primal and grounding, something that struck
deep within me.
Clay’s eyes stayed dark and wild while he dressed, a sign that Vinn was still near the surface. Once he was clothed, he closed the
distance between us, pulling me into a powerful kiss that sent a shiver through me.
“Mine,” he linked, his voice low and possessive, and a soft moan escaped my lips. His touch stirred something instinctual within me,
a deep ache building in my core. I pressed my thighs together, hoping to keep my composure, but Clay’s intensity made me feel like
he noticed every detail.
As he pulled back, his gaze softened, his eyes returning to their usual warm blue, and he began preparing a cosy spot for us to sit.
Once the mat was spread out, he sat down and pulled me gently between his legs, wrapping his arms around me as we took in the
view together. His warmth, his scent–all of it surrounded me, and I leaned back into his chest, feeling safe and content.
“I brought sandwiches,” he murmured, but food was the last thing on my mind. His cinnamon scent filled my senses, stirring a very
different kind of hunger within me, one that I was only beginning to understand.
“Do
you like the scene?” he asked, his voice soft, and I nodded, unable to find words to describe how breathtaking everything felt.
