Chapter 109
Fiona’s counter-question gave Killian pause.
A vein twitched on his forehead, signaling an ominous feeling.
He opened his mouth but was momentarily at a loss for words.
Fiona looked him up and down, her beautiful, bright eyes filled with undisguised mockery and haughtiness.
“So your ex-wife is Calista. I wouldn’t have known if you hadn’t said. No wonder you were in such a hurry to explain. Calista hasn’t mentioned you at all from start to finish. It’s you who has a guilty conscience and spilled the beans yourself!”
Killian clenched his fists, standing there awkwardly.
Fiona looked at him as if he were a clown.
His entire face felt as if it had been slapped hard, burning with an unprecedented heat and sting. Yet, it was he himself who had exposed this, leaving him with nowhere 3

to vent his anger.
He only regretted being too hasty and misjudging the
situation.
Calista probably hasn’t had a chance to mention me yet.
But just because she hasn’t now doesn’t mean she won’t badmouth me later.
Killian forced himself to regain composure, pushing down all the feelings of rage and humiliation.
“Even if she doesn’t say anything, I would have. Being completely honest with you is a sign of my sincerity, not an admission of guilt. I can’t control what my ex-wife says. I just hope you can understand me better and not be too quick to pass judgment.”
Fiona gave Killian a sidelong glance and sneered coldly, “You’re quite something.”
Master of sophistry.
Killian wanted to say more, but Callum walked over with
measured steps.

He directly positioned himself in front of Fiona, abruptly cutting off the conversation and blocking Killian’s line of sight.
Killian frowned.
Callum spoke calmly, “Mr. Frost, your seat is at table
number two.”
Seating arrangements at elite parties are highly significant.
The closer the table is to the front, the higher the status
of the guests.
Those seated at the first table are undoubtedly the closest family and most honored guests.
Killian naturally understood this rule. He was a friend invited by Fiona. Being seated at the second table already signified his important status.
Seeing that Callum showed no intention of leaving, and unable to say anything more to Fiona, he had no choice
but to nod.

“Alright, I’ll head there now.”
“Mr. Frost, this way, please.”
Fiona crossed her arms, swept a glance at Callum, and seemed to let out a dissatisfied hum. “Make sure you properly entertain my friends today.”
Callum gave a slight nod, his tone calm and detached. “A guest is a guest. I will naturally extend proper hospitality.”
Fiona left with her head held high.
Callum smiled and gestured for Killian to take his seat.
Killian’s eyes shifted between the nominal siblings, his expression thoughtful.
Their relationship doesn’t seem very good. Callum is in charge of the South Suburb project.
It seemed he had found a new point of leverage.

At the first table, Serena sat in the center with Frank
beside her.
To Serena’s right were Kristen and Byron, followed by Evander, Calista, and Olivia.
On Frank’s side were Fiona and her two sons, with
Callum at the end.
Serena looked at Olivia and said kindly, “Olivia, no need to be reserved. Just think of this as your own home!”
Olivia’s large eyes curved into a smile. “Thank you, Madam Sullivan! The food at your house looks delicious!”
“Then come often! Our chef is a top-tier culinary master who can cook dishes from many different cuisines!”
Fiona chimed in, “Olivia, your mother raised you so well. Come here more often and set an example for my two unruly sons!”
Fiona’s two sons, one aged 10 and the other 6, were at lively, cheerful ages.

The two brothers raised their glasses of juice and said cheerfully, “Olivia, we are very well-behaved. Next time you come, we’ll take you to our secret base, okay?”
Olivia glanced at Calista and replied evasively, “Okay! I’ll definitely come if I have the chance!”
Seeing the children get along so harmoniously, the adults all smiled happily.
Kristen shot her sister a glance and chided, “I’m Olivia’s proper grandmother! Olivia should come to my place first!”
As she spoke, she added more food to Calista’s and Olivia’s plates.
Byron echoed his wife’s words. “Yes, Olivia. Our chef used to work for your grandfather. His skills are excellent. Evander went to great lengths to hire him back. Come to our house another day!”
Olivia nodded, amused. She had heard Evander mention that chef. He had specifically hired him for Calista’s sake.
Looking at the table full of affectionate adults, Olivia felt 679

a warm glow inside.
These elders are so adorable, competing to invite me for meals.
At the Frost family, this was always Austin’s treatment. I was never valued like this.
Ever since leaving the Frost family with Mom, my sense of happiness has soared.
People at the neighboring tables looked curiously at Calista and Olivia, speculating about their identities.
At tables farther away, they were even discussing in
hushed tones.
“Look, Mr. Hayes’s girlfriend brought a daughter! That girl was born a princess!”
“Following her mom to remarry into a magnate stepfather, Cinderella turns into a top-tier society girl- it’s like fiction come to life!”
