Chapter 11 You Know So Much
Calista looked up at her.
Nicole was only wearing a bath towel. Her long hair hung loose over her shoulders, and her young skin had that natural glow to it. She looked fresh and vibrant.
Youth really was unbeatable.
Nicole was 19 years younger than Calista. If Calista had
started early, she could’ve been Nicole’s mother.
“Ms. Hartwell, that anti-hair loss shampoo you use doesn’t
work very well. Let me recommend a better one for you.”
Nicole emphasized “anti-hair loss” on purpose.
She was mocking Calista for getting old, for losing her hair, for time catching up with her.
Calista smiled, “Oh, that shampoo is Killian’s. You should talk to him about it.”

Nicole froze for a second. She felt annoyed, and her words got more aggressive.

made such a scene, you wouldn’t be getting kicked out.”
She played with her hair casually and revealed a diamond hairpin tucked into it.
Calista recognized that hairpin immediately. Killian kept it locked in his safe and treated it like some kind of treasure.
One time when she was getting her documents, she’d accidentally touched it, and Killian had completely lost it on
her.
Later, he said it was something his late father left behind, which was why it meant so much to him.
Apparently, it had come out of hiding now.
Calista grabbed her suitcase and looked at Nicole with amusement, like she was dealing with a child. “Want me to sweet-talk him into not signing the papers?”
“Calista, you’re shameless! No wonder Austin doesn’t even
want to call you his mom!”
Young people got worked up so easily. They couldn’t handle the slightest provocation.

The smack echoed through the room, sharp and loud.
Calista had slapped her hard across the face.
Nicole’s head spun, and she stumbled several times before she caught her balance. Her face was already swollen, and now, it looked even worse.
“Calista, what gives you the right to hit me?” Nicole shrieked.
“I’m Austin’s actual mother, and I’m responsible for him. If you dare drag him into your mess again, I won’t let it slide,” Calista snorted coldly.
Nicole held her face, and her teeth were clenched in anger. “You won’t be his mom much longer anyway. Mr. Frost doesn’t want you anymore!”
Calista looked at her with a knowing expression.
She continued, “You think Killian values you that much? Didn’t

you hear what he just said? You’re worth only 10 million dollars to him. His brother lost nine million dollars gambling, and Killian paid it off without blinking an eye.”

Nicole thought she was special. She thought being young and 3/10 pretty meant she had some old man wrapped around her

But Calista had already figured out Killian and the entire Frost family a long time ago.
In that family, their spouses were the least important thing.
Anyone who wanted to jump into that cesspool was welcome to it.
Downstairs in the living room, Olivia stood with her suitcase, her eyes full of hope for their new life.
Sitting on the couch with his leg bouncing, Austin was hunched over his phone playing a game.
Every once in a while, he glanced up at Olivia with a cold look.
“Olivia, why are you making a scene too? The Frost family treats you fine. Why would you leave to go suffer somewhere else?”
He looked so arrogant and cold, exactly like Killian.
Olivia bit her lip. “It’s still better than staying here and watching you and Dad’s mistress act all lovey-dovey!”

doing nothing made anyone happy. She’d rather work through practice problems or spend a few rounds at the chessboard.
She didn’t want to argue anymore. She just looked at Austin quietly for a moment. “Austin, I’m not going easy on you anymore.”
Austin didn’t get what she meant. He kept playing his game and said sarcastically, “Studying isn’t about talking big. The city rankings speak for themselves.”
Olivia shook her head like she was looking at an idiot and
stopped talking.
Calista grabbed her suitcase and deliberately took the stairs
instead of the elevator.
She’d personally arranged every piece of furniture and every plant in this place. She’d poured so much effort and love into

From now on, there would be no husband or son in her life.
She would give all her love and time to Olivia and herself.
Calista took one last look at Austin on the couch.
Her voice was especially gentle. “Austin, take care of yourself from now on. I left the recipe for your stomach remedy, so
when your stomach hurts, have the housekeeper make it for
you.
“Also, there’s an awards ceremony at school tomorrow
morning at nine. Reporters from the city will be interviewing
you, so remember to be on time.”
Austin snapped, “God, you’re so annoying! Stop with the act already! If you’re leaving, just leave! Nobody’s gonna stop
you!”
Calista had nothing holding her back anymore.
She and Olivia left together, chatting and laughing. They felt so light and free.
The servants exchanged looks. They finally understood what was happening.

Evander happened to be in the lobby. He was talking with someone, but when he saw them, he walked right over and smoothly took Calista’s suitcase from her.
Anyone who didn’t know better would think they were close
friends.
But all these years, Calista had only worked and taken care of the Frost family. Everything revolved around her husband and kids. She never had time for herself, let alone staying in
touch with Evander.
Calista didn’t argue with him about the suitcase. The more she argued, the more complicated things would get.
She made polite small talk. “Mr. Hayes, heading to work out?”
Tonight, he was wearing a light gray athletic outfit. She couldn’t tell what brand it was, but the quality looked expensive. It made him look even younger and more handsome, really athletic.

actually. Heading back up.”
Olivia was impressed. Evander had just finished working out,
but he still looked so fresh and clean.
“How are you two holding up?”
He gestured at their luggage.
Olivia could feel his kindness, and it warmed her heart.
When she lived with the Frost family, she was constantly ignored. Her grandmother, her dad, her aunt, her uncle…
Everyone revolved around Austin like he was the center of the
universe.
They only threw her a little bit of attention every now and
then.
In the whole Frost family, Calista was the only one who gave her real love.
