Chapter 118
Austin stared at Calista in disbelief.
Olivia had already beaten him, and his cheek was still injured.
Now his own mother had slapped him too, and his entire
face burned.
Calista had never hit him before, not once in his whole life, and she had barely even raised her voice at him.
He couldn’t believe she would actually hit him.
Austin glared at her. “You’re gonna regret this. I’m done with you. I’ll never call you my mother again!”
Calista nodded. “Good. That’s what I want.”
She turned and walked away without another glance.
This was the first time she had ever hit her child.
She had grown up surrounded by love, and she had wagted to pass that same love on to her own childrem 5:56

She had always been patient with them, guiding them gently, and the worst punishment had been a few harsh words or making them stand in the corner.
Looking back now, she only regretted not being stricter when they were younger.

Inside the hospital room, Killian stood and stared coldly at Evander, who was lying in the bed.
Killian’s voice was icy. “Mr. Hayes, you’re rich and powerful with an impressive family background. You could have any woman you want. So why did you have to wreck my family and steal my wife and my children’s mother?”
Killian said this because he had calmed down and finally pieced everything together.
From the beginning at the Kingston Hotel, Evander had been helping Calista.
Evander had sent Connor to break into the Frost family

home and take Olivia and Calista away. Then he had forced Killian to go to the courthouse to sign the divorce
papers.
Later, Evander had been the one comforting Calista at the coffee shop downstairs from the Frost Group building. At that time, Killian and Calista weren’t even divorced yet.
Evander was nothing but a homewrecker.
Killian had never believed that Calista could truly cut ties
with him.
They had two children together, and even if the marriage was over, blood ties couldn’t be broken.
They were bound to be tangled up in each other’s lives forever.
In other words, Evander was a complete homewrecker.
Evander let out a soft laugh, and his elegant fingers traced the rim of the cup Calista had handed him.
He said, “I heard you have a girl in her twenties around you, Mr. Frost, and you’re pretty fond of her.” 378

Killian’s expression remained cool. “Nicole is genuine and straightforward. I appreciate her personality. You’re the ones with dirty minds.”
Evander shot back without hesitation. “And aren’t you the same, Mr. Frost?”
His bluntness left Killian with no choice but to deliver
a final warning, his face cold. “Mr. Hayes, you have a bright future ahead of you. I only ask that you keep your distance from my wife and daughter from now on. If you do something inappropriate and things escalate, it’ll be ugly for everyone.”
Evander almost laughed out loud.
They were divorced, and Killian was still calling Calista his wife and Olivia his daughter.
But when had Killian ever honestly treated Calista like a wife or cherished Olivia the way a father should?
Evander’s eyes turned cold and sharp. “Mr. Frost, if we’re talking about who’s inappropriate here, you’re the third party.”

He was the other man?
Killian stood there speechless and crossed his arms, staring down at the man in the hospital bed.
This guy who whined about every little ache and pain/ from a minor injury was nothing like the legendary Commander Hayes, the man known for his ruthless efficiency and commanding presence.
Killian found himself less intimidated by this softer version of Evander, and his respect began to waver.
Killian’s voice rose. “I think that lake water scrambled your brain, Mr. Hayes. Calista and I have been married for twenty years. Our twentieth anniversary is in two weeks.”
He remembered the date so clearly because their wedding day had fallen on a date that mattered to him, a day he considered necessary.
Killian continued, his tone firm. “Even with your position and power, you can’t twist the facts and accuse people of being home wreckers.”

Evander’s tone shifted, a dangerous edge creeping in. “Oh?”
His warm features froze over, and his eyes reflected a razor-sharp coldness.
Even sitting in a hospital bed, the commanding aura radiating from him forced Killian to take several steps
back.
Evander’s voice dropped, heavy with authority. “Mr. Frost, you seem to have forgotten that twenty years ago, right after Calista graduated, you manipulated her into stealing her documents and getting that marriage certificate behind everyone’s backs.”
Evander’s eyes narrowed as he fixed his gaze on Killian, and a fierce, cutting wind seemed to swirl in those dark depths, as if he wanted to tear the man apart.
Evander said, “I looked into it. Back then, you faked a cancer diagnosis to win Calista’s sympathy and make her feel responsible for you. She wanted to take care of you without anyone questioning it, so she went behind everyone’s back and married you. That same day, I had
