Second Chance His Unending Love (Calista Hartwell) novel Chapter 55

< Second Chance, His Unending Lo…

Chapter 55

At the base office, Evander picked up a pen and marked a heavy cross on the calendar.

Today was the last day.

His mood was exceptionally bright-even when training the team, his tone was much gentler.

Privately, the team members joked that he must have been possessed by a seductress lately; his eyes were particularly captivating.

Only Connor, who knew the truth, had been on tenterhooks for a month. Finally, he let out a sigh of

relief.

Thank goodness, the thirty days had passed smoothly.

Evander would never have to be a secret “mistress” again!

Monday, August 11th. Precisely at nine o’clock, Calista arrived at the Courthouse entrance.

Killian, seeing her arrive, stepped out of his car with an air of superiority.

He’d intended to say something, but watched as she ignored him completely and walked straight into the lobby.

Killian found it absurd.

This woman was getting more skilled at playing hard to

get.

From this moment on, he’d make her regret it for the rest

of her life.

The two took a number and sat in front of the counter.

Their submitted documents were complete, with various types of assets, but the agreement Calista had drafted clearly outlined the division, making the process straightforward.

Calista picked up the pen and signed her name without hesitation.

Killian snorted coldly and signed his name too.

Soon, all the formalities were finished.

Only then did Calista let out a long breath of relief.

She’d truly worried Killian might back out at the last

minute.

Divorce in a wealthy family was never easy. Being able to get the certificate smoothly and walk away with 50 million dollars in cash, despite all the twists and turns, was already the best outcome she’d hoped for.

Walking out of the lobby, she looked up at the sky; even

the air felt sweet.

As Killian held the divorce certificate in his hand, a sudden unpleasant feeling stirred in his chest.

He spoke up abruptly, “Calista, actually, if you have needs in terms of marital intimacy, you could just say so directly. There’s really no need to go to all this trouble.”

Calista stared at him in confusion.

They were already divorced-what was he on about?

After the divorce, she saw no reason to spare his feelings any longer.

Mimicking his condescending gaze, she sized him up from head to toe before speaking, “Killian, maybe Nicole’s presence really made you rediscover your youthful

passion. But I’ll say this-you’ve been terrible in bed from young to now! Totally lousy!”

Humiliation! This was unmitigated humiliation!

Killian’s face flushed red, then turned pale. His teeth. ground together with anger.

“Calista, I warn you-from now on, you’re not allowed to use the title Mrs. Frost to deceive others. The Frost family will never shelter you again. As for Olivia… when she grows up, she’ll realize what a terrible mistake she’s

made.

“Still, I’m her father. She can come back to the Frost family anytime she wants,” he added.

Calista smiled faintly, “I’ll pass that on to Olivia exactly:35

her.

“I also hope you’ll pay more attention to Austin, guide him properly, and don’t let him go astray.”

“My son doesn’t need your concern,” Killian snapped, turning to leave.

“Wait,” Calista called out.

“Say whatever you have to say at once. I don’t want any more involvement with you,” Killian replied, not turning

around.

“Gladly,” Calista said, walking over and pointing to the

agreement.

“The 50 million dollars-remember to transfer it as soon as possible. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee I won’t do something that affects the development of Frost Group.”

Killian’s company was in the critical stage of a project bid, with fears of any unexpected complications.

Though he knew Calista couldn’t stir up much trouble be
