Chapter 373 She Missed Him Terribly
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder.
On the morning Julian left, he’d worn her out so badly she could barely stand.
But after a few days of rest, she’d forgotten just how relentless he could be.
And now she missed him.
She was distracted even as she walked back onto campus with Lucy.
“Quinn!”
Lucy tugged her arm.
Quinn looked over. “What?”
“Look who’s over there.”
Lucy had come back to eat at the campus cafeteria, never expecting to run into someone she knew.
Quinn squinted. “He looks familiar. Is he your friend?”
Lucy smiled. “Yeah.”
She’d been in student council for a while, and the guy had been vice president.
Shawn Carter spotted them too, looking stunned.
When Lucy waved, he walked over quickly. “It really is you two!”
His
eyes
darted straight to Quinn before he turned to Lucy. “What brings you two back to campus?”
Lucy grinned. “Came for lunch. Long time no see, Shawn.”
“Way too long,” Shawn said. “Let me buy you both something to eat. My treat.”
“No, thanks,” Lucy said. “We’re just wandering around.”
Finished
“It’s not every day we run into each other,” Shawn insisted. “I’m on break too. Let me take the pretty ladies
out.”
Lucy glanced at Quinn. “Is that okay with you?”
Quinn didn’t mind. Shawn was Lucy’s friend, and it was just a casual meal.
She nodded. “Sure.”
The three of them walked around campus for a bit. At one point, Quinn stepped away to use the restroom.
Shawn’s gaze followed her the whole time.

Chapter 373 She Missed Him Terribly
Furshed
Lucy said. “Quit staring. She has a boyfriend now.”
Shawn blinked in surprise. “Boyfriend? I thought she was married.”
He’d met Lucy first, then Quinn-and fallen for her at first sight.
Lucy hadn’t known at the time. He’d pined quietly for a while before telling her, only to learn Quinn was already married.
He’d dated someone else afterward, but it hadn’t lasted.
Lucy said. “That ended. The guy was a total jerk. Now Quinn’s dating my cousin.”
“Your cousin?”
Lucy nodded. “Yep. So whatever you’re thinking, drop it. I’m not letting you steal my cousin’s girl.”
Shawn smiled. “I wouldn’t.”
But the way he looked at Quinn made it obvious he still felt something.
Even Quinn could tell he was acting strange.
Flushed
Lucy said, “Then sleep over at my place tonight. It’s been forever since we hung out just the two of us, once you started living with Julian.”
Quinn agreed right away. “Sure.”
With Julian gone, the big house felt
empty anyway.
When they got back to Lucy’s place, Quinn went to take a shower. Just then, her phone rang.
Lucy was about to bring to her, but she saw it was a video call from Julian.
She answered, and before she could say anything, he cooed, “Babe.”
Lucy clamped a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing, her face twisting.
She managed to say, “Julian.”
Then she burst out giggling.
Julian’s expression hardened the second he saw her.
“Where’s Quinn?” he said sharply.
“She’s in the shower,” Lucy answered quickly. “She’s staying over with me tonight.”
