Chapter 376 A Pushy Companion
“Not exactly. He’s here on business.”
That surprised Shawn even more,
She flew all this way just to visit her boyfriend while he works?
He never would’ve guessed she was the clingy type.
Still, Shawn told himself, some couples liked being that attached.
But sometimes it left no room to breathe, and over time it got tiring.
He figured Quinn and her boyfriend probably wouldn’t last.
Maybe he’d still have a chance.
With that thought, Shawn grew even more eager to talk.
Mostly he rambled about himself, hoping to impress her and make her see what he was like.
He mentioned he’d been invited overseas by a major company.
But Quinn barely reacted. She only nodded now and then, her smile faint and polite.
Shawn had dated plenty of girls. He was good-looking and well-off, and women usually chased him.
try hard.
Even when he pursued someone, he never had to
Being treated this coldly by Quinn was a first for him.
And that only made him want her more.
Guys could be stubborn that way-the more they couldn’t have something, the more they wanted it.
Quinn fell asleep again not long after.
Partly to avoid jet lag later, but mostly so she wouldn’t have to keep talking to Shawn.
When she woke up, she read a book, giving short, distant replies no matter what he said.
When the plane finally landed, Quinn visibly relaxed.
She couldn’t wait to see Julian.
During the flight, her longing for him had grown almost overwhelming.
She realized now how much she’d missed him.
If she hadn’t come, she would’ve been miserable back home.

She headed for the exit. Lucy had already sent her the hotel address.
But Shawn stayed right beside her.
Quinn turned to him directly. “We should part here. Good luck with everything.”
“Which way are you going? We can share a taxi.”
“I’d rather not.,” Quinn said. “Goodbye.”
She walked away and found a restroom to change.
But when she stepped out, Shawn was exiting the one across from her.
Shawn blinked, then smiled. “Guess fate works in funny ways.”
Quinn didn’t believe it was fate. This was the first bathroom by the gate, and it was crowded.
She gave him a faint, cold smile and left without another word.
Outside, she tried to flag down a taxi-when two men nearby started throwing punches.
Quinn jumped.
She’d heard places overseas could be unsafe, but she didn’t expect chaos even at the airport.
“Don’t be scared.”
She locked her phone and stared out the window.
She didn’t see what was so great about being overseas. The security was worrying, and the scenery was nothing special.
Home was way better.
At least Julian would be flying back in two days.
“Quinn, we’re here.”
Quinn snapped back to her senses and nodded. “Thanks.”
She got out to grab her luggage, but Shawn beat her to it and pulled the suitcase out for her.
“Your boyfriend’s staying at this hotel?”
It was the most expensive and luxurious one in the area.
Quinn nodded. “Thank you. When we’re back home, Lucy and I will treat you to dinner.”
Shawn smiled. “Sounds good. We’ll set something up.”
Quinn didn’t linger and turned toward the entrance.
“Quinny!”
Shawn called after her.
Quinn frowned.
She hated when people she barely knew used such a familiar nickname.
Shawn jogged over. “Just… be careful while you’re here, okay?”
