Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 270

"I guess we're set then!"

Angeline felt satisfied with her outfit for Robert's banquet.

The stylist removed Angeline's jewelry and stored them in a briefcase. With one hand lifting the end of her gown, Angeline entered the fitting room to change her clothes.

After removing the straps of her stilettos, Angeline arranged her hair to the front and reached behind her back to unzip her gown. But before she could, a big, slender hand grabbed hers.

Angeline turned around in surprise. She was shocked but relieved to see it was Sean.

"W-why are you here, Mr. Lawson?"

Angeline was a little worried as Asher was waiting outside.

"Mr. Lawson Senior asked me to help you choose your gown, but I was late because of a meeting," Sean said.

He put his hands on Angeline's shoulder and turned her around before unzipping her gown.

"Thanks for helping me, but can you wait for me outside?" Angeline asked nervously while holding the gown and pressing it onto her breast, afraid they might fall.

Sean had no intention of waiting outside. He sat on the couch in the fitting room instead.

He asked, "Do you have an answer to my question?"

Angeline turned to look at Sean, who looked back at her with calm, profound eyes. She pressed her lips together.

Angeline had tossed and turned in her bed, trying to make her decision.

It was difficult for her not to fall for Sean, who could be considered the peak of all outstanding men in terms of achievements and personality.

Although Angeline knew that to be with Sean meant to go against Robert, she couldn't help but reminisce about her time with him. Especially during their recent encounters, Angeline felt he was somewhat different from the Sean she knew.

Angeline had been cautious in her relationship after her experience with Ned.

"I was just surprised. You don't look like someone who would do this," Angeline said.

"Like that day at the Night Palace, I was surprised to see you and even more surprised when you hit someone."

Angeline had thought Sean was always rational. Only a rash person like Ned would do such a thing as sending someone to the detention center to beat up the people who tried to harm her.

"Are you implying that you're rejecting me?"

Sean smiled.

"No, I wasn't," Angeline said.

She looked down to catch a breath and mustered the courage to say, "You've always been a mature, virtuous, yet enigmatic man. Not only are you confident, but you're also handsome, elegant, and, most importantly, unattainable.

"It's hard not to fall for an almost perfect man like you, Sean. So I have to admit, I have feelings for you."
