Ned knew that he could never make it up to Angeline, even if he begged for her forgiveness.

He was at a loss for what to do to ensure Angeline's happiness.

He finally gathered the courage to turn around and look at her when he overheard her walking away.

"An—" His voice was fraught with emotions to the point he couldn't speak. When Angeline went over to her bodyguard, Ned finally had his emotions in control and called out loudly, "Angie, what can I do so you won't hate me?"

He sounded like he was about to cry.

Angeline paused when she opened the car door. She calmly turned around to look at him. "Never show up in my life again."

He froze at the heartlessness in her tone. His world seemed to have crumbled in that moment. After Angeline entered the car, he couldn't stop himself from running after her.

She closed the car door and said to the bodyguard, "Let's go."

The car slowly moved. Seeing that, Ned rushed to the door and slapped on the window as he cried and wailed, "Angie, don't leave me! You promised you'd never give up on me! You said you'd grow old with me…

"Punish me. I'm in the wrong, so punish me in any way you want, but don't abandon me. Angie, I can't live without you. You can't take back your word.

"Every birthday wish of mine was about you, us, and our future. You promised to make it a reality…"

However, she didn't seem to feel any emotions apart from irritation and annoyance at the troubles he brought forth. Made no mistake—she still held a grudge against him, but now that she was more powerful than Ned, she could easily take away everything from him by destroying him and Fletcher Corporation.

From the day she came home, Ned could no longer protect Tommy, and he couldn't count on Fletcher Corporation to back him up anymore.

Ned ran and yelled at the top of his lungs until he collapsed on the ground. Trevor drove his car over and put on emergency signals in the lane to prevent other cars from running over Ned. Then, he quickly got out of the car and helped Ned up from the ground. "Are you okay?"

The other road users cast looks at Ned. Trevor struggled and failed to help Ned up from the ground. He said in exasperation, "Mr. Fletcher, stop causing a scene!"

Drenched in sweat, Ned lifted his head and looked at Trevor with his bloodshot eyes. Lost and clueless like a child, he mumbled, "Angie doesn't want me anymore. She… She hates me to the core. I lost her!"
