Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 311

Helen nodded. "I didn't expect you to care so much about them."

"Of course, I care about them! They're my kids!" Ned turned to leave.

"Has something gone wrong with Vitality Biotech again? I'm on good terms with Danny Reilly, the head of their Lonla Division, and…" Helen paused and picked up her coffee. "I also know their founder pretty well.

"If you need help, perhaps I could lend you a hand. You should know that Danny was invited to my uncle's birthday celebration."

Ned clenched his fist around his phone when he heard Helen say she knew Vitality Biotech's founder. But at the thought of her ulterior motives, he said, "I'll speak to you again if I need your help."

Helen watched him leave and sneered. Every human would naturally be fond of their flesh and blood, yet Robert was an exception to the rule. His old age was getting to him. That was why he was siding with an outsider instead of with his kin.

She picked up her bag and walked out of the cafe. At the same time, she called Winston. "The mid-year review meeting with the board of directors is at 10:00 am. Have you arranged everything for me?"

"You bet I have," Winston said flippantly. "You spent so much money buying our shares. Now that you hold 10% of the company's shares, you have all the right to attend the meeting.

"Don't forget what we agreed on, though. Once you get Lawson Global, I want to be the finance director. You also promised to give me 5% of the company's shares."

Helen smirked. "We signed a contract for that. Don't tell me that isn't enough to ease your worries."

During the weekly meeting held at 9:00 am, Sean introduced Angeline to the senior executives. She was quick to get into the groove. After introducing herself as Angeline Lawson, she got to work.

"Alright." Angeline handed her things to Jamie.

As the marketing director and sales director left the conference room, the marketing director couldn't help saying, "Ms. Lawson's pretty sharp when it comes to observing the market.

"When Mr. Lawson left Marvonia and returned to Lonla to do his own R&D, I knew there would come a time when local brands would become all the rage. When we were eating lunch together the other day, I told you we could use this to our advantage, but you didn't believe me…"

The sales director frowned. "Well, I think the strategy we came up with for the electronics market was pretty good. It doesn't even require that high a budget.

"I bet Ms. Lawson's just trying to throw her weight around and make herself seem important because she's new. Our departments are just the first two that she's chosen to prove herself!"
