"Oh, I'm not afraid of him," Angeline said with a smile.
Despite Brayden's lackadaisical attitude, Sean evidently trusted him. She wouldn't think of anyone Sean trusted as her enemy, even if they didn't appear to be good. She didn't need to fear Brayden.
Lara arrived at Glitz Cafe a few minutes earlier than Angeline did. When she saw Angeline, she pushed the proposal toward her and gestured for her to have a look.
When Angeline saw that Lawson Global would only receive 20%, she didn't bother looking at the rest of the document.
She laughed and said, "I wanted 50%, but you're only giving me 20%. This isn't how haggling is done, Ms. Lara. I don't think there's any need for us to waste our time anymore."
She got up without even bothering to drink her coffee.
"I can only give you 25% at most. That's the most I can offer!"
Lara's smile faded. After all, land No. 3 was in a very important location.
"I can provide you with some extra benefits in private. It'll be off the record!"
"Lawson Global is the culmination of my grandfather's hard work, Ms. Lara. I want it to improve, and I've never once thought about secretly making money. If that were what I wanted, I would've bought land No. 3 under my own name and not the company's.
"You still have time to reconsider, Ms. Lara. Either that or you can amend your blueprint and leave land No. 3 out of the picture."
Angeline smiled brightly.
"I'm running a little short on time. The coffee tasted good, Ms. Lara. Thanks for that."
With that, Angeline grabbed her bag and left the private room. As the door shut behind her, the smile on Lara's face disappeared. She slammed her coffee cup on the table. Why was Angeline so stubborn?
