Victor's brain felt like it had exploded. He staggered backward two steps and stared at Brook in disbelief. "No, that can't be right, that's impossible... Brook, isn't there something else we can do?"
Brook shook his head. "There's nothing I can do at this point, but you need to figure out how medicine meant for Eloise ended up in Anita's system."
Victor stumbled backward, and his phone clattered to the floor.
Victor mechanically dialed Eloise's number, but all he got was the cold automated message saying her phone was off.

Meanwhile, Eloise boarded a yacht called the Sea Star with Chris and Lucas.
Lucas had rented out the entire yacht and somehow managed to turn what was supposed to be a birthday party into a full-blown elite social event.
The guest list included top business executives and wealthy socialites from all over the country.
Lucas loved to party, and he'd decided everyone had to change into swimsuits and wear masks after boarding. He called it "ice breaking" or some bullshit like that.
Eloise hadn't expected him to go this wild with it, and she was pissed enough to cuss him out.
But Chris had started her career as a supermodel, so swimsuits were nothing new to her.
She quickly changed into a sexy leopard print bikini and brought Eloise a black backless one-piece.
Eloise looked at it with disgust. "Do I have to wear this? What's even the point? This thing barely covers anything."
Chris burst out laughing. "Sure, you can go naked if you want. I guarantee you'll be the hottest thing out there tonight."
Eloise rolled her eyes. "Screw you. Can't you give me something else? This is way beyond my comfort zone."
Chris spread her hands. "Nope, I only brought these two. Want to trade? You can have the leopard print."
Staring at the leopard print bikini Chris was wearing, which was basically just a bunch of strings with barely any fabric, Eloise shook her head frantically.
In the end, she reluctantly pulled on the black swimsuit.
Chris kept eyeing her up and down with a sleazy look in her eyes. "Damn, look at you. That figure, that skin. You're absolutely gorgeous, and that jerk didn't appreciate any of it. What a waste."
Eloise's mouth twitched. "Can we please not talk about him? It's killing my vibe."
Chris immediately clapped a hand over her mouth. "You're right. Why waste our breath on trash? Come on, let's go party!"
She grabbed Eloise's hand and pulled her out of the room. The two of them ran down the hallway and burst into a scene that was basically chaos in the best way possible.
Pulsing music, flashing lights, and people everywhere in various stages of undress.
Eloise hadn't felt this kind of raw, unfiltered energy in forever.
Chris didn't waste any time. She dove straight into the center of the dance floor and pulled Lucas into what could only be described as an absolutely filthy samba routine. Within seconds, the entire crowd went wild.
The man's eyes narrowed, and the temperature around them seemed to drop. "You mind letting go now?"
That was when Eloise realized her hand was still pressed against his stomach. She yanked it back and let out an awkward laugh, trying to salvage what was left of her dignity. "Sorry about that. My bad."
She tried to step back, but he was still holding her wrist. His grip wasn't tight, but it was firm enough that she couldn't pull away.
"Um, could you let go now?" She blinked up at him, trying to look innocent.
The man didn't answer. Instead, he leaned down and got closer, studying her face carefully.
"It's you." He let out a quiet scoff and finally released her wrist.
"You know me?"
"Seems like I always make you uncomfortable." His lips pressed together as he said it.
Eloise's heart skipped a beat. She quickly took a step back and found herself looking him up and down.
Who the hell is this guy?
From the way he's talking, it sounds like he knows me.
What does he mean by saying he always makes me uncomfortable?
