GONG HANSEO stared at the ring around his finger lovingly.
He hadn’t told anyone yet that he was engaged now, so no one knew about it yet.
Not his family, not his friends.
My parents will be happy since they really like Kyungmin Hyung.
He had a small circle of friends, and all of them were supportive.
But if he could be biased for a moment, then...
Garam is younger than me, but I consider him my best friend.
"Do you like your ring that much, babe?"
"Of course. It’s very pretty," Gong Hanseo said, smiling. Since he didn’t have any work today, he was just on the bed— lying down on his stomach while admiring his beautiful engagement ring. "You really know my taste, Hyung. This is the ring I would have chosen myself."
"If I didn’t know your taste after dating you for several years, then what kind of lover am I? It’s the bare minimum to know your partner’s style."
"Hyung, there are men out there who don’t know if their partner likes gold or silver."
"You prefer gold, babe."
"Yeah, gold looks better on my skin tone. Gold is also a good investment."
Seong Kyungmin chuckled. "You sound like Park Sohee and his kids."
Gong Hanseo smiled and nodded.
Park Sohee and his kids were all obsessed with gold.
"Speaking of which, thank you for all the gold jewelry pieces and accessories that you’ve given to me as a gift, Hyung," Gong Hanseo said, and then he teased his fiancé. "If we ever go bankrupt, we can sell them to survive."
Seong Kyungmin chuckled. "Then I should cover you in gold from head to toe."
"Aren’t you already doing that?"
"Not enough. You always worry whenever I buy you gifts, so I often hold back."
"Well, you always splurge when it comes to me," Gong Hanseo complained lightly. "I know you earn a lot. I’m also aware that you get richer even when you’re sleeping because of your investments. Even so, let’s hold back, okay? I don’t need a new piece of jewelry every week."
"How about every two weeks?"
"Hyung..."
"Gold is a good investment."
Gong Hanseo rolled his eyes. "Aren’t you going to be late for work?"
Unfortunately for his lover, he had to go to work every day.
"I only have a consultation with Kim Heedo and his family this morning," Seong Kyungmin said, his hand gently patting Gong Hanseo’s butt. "We can have lunch together if you’re free."
"I’m free," Gong Hanseo said, pausing for a moment. "Hyung, can I bring you lunch later?"
"You’re going to cook for me?"
"Yes, Hyung. I think I’m getting better at cooking after taking cooking lessons."
Gong Hanseo knew how to cook simple dishes, but most of them were Korean cuisine.
He didn’t have time to learn how to cook because he was often busy. Plus, Seong Kyungmin loved going out.
But since he got engaged, he declined several projects to focus on his wedding preparations. Hence, he had more free time now. And since he hated doing nothing, he decided to enroll in a cooking class.
"I’d love it if you bring me lunch later, babe," Seong Kyungmin said, smiling— obviously excited. "What are you going to cook for me?"
"I recently learned how to cook Filipino dishes from our teacher," Gong Hanseo said, smiling proudly. "Look forward to your hearty lunch later, Hyung."
***
PORK sinigang.
That was the Filipino dish that Gong Hanseo cooked for Seong Kyungmin.
It was similar to the kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) that his lover loved, so he knew his fiancé would enjoy pork sinigang, too.
Of course, the dish wouldn’t be complete without rice.
He also packed side dishes like kimchi, pickled radish, spicy cucumber salad, bean sprouts, seasoned vegetables, etc.
I really hope Hyung likes my cooking.
"I’m sorry, but you can’t meet Dr. Seong without an appointment— especially if your reason for visiting is personal."
Hmm?
Gong Hanseo stopped walking when he saw Nurse Cha, the middle-aged head nurse who was often with Seong Kyungmin, talking sternly to a man.
Oh, he looks familiar... ah!
He realized that the man was a rising actor.
I can’t remember his name, but he’s starring in the most talked-about drama at the moment. Actor Yun Dujun-ssi is the main character in that show, and that person is often with Actor Yun Dujun-ssi’s character.
He couldn’t remember the rising actor’s name, both in real life and on the show.
However...
I know he’s an Omega because he created a buzz before because of his pretty face.
"Then what can I do?" the actor complained. "Kyungmin-ssi isn’t answering my calls and messages..."
Nurse Cha sighed as if frustrated and was about to say something, but stopped when he spotted Gong Hanseo. Her face instantly beamed. "Oh, you’re here, Hanseo-ssi. Dr. Seong has been waiting for you. He even bragged to the entire team that you’re bringing him home-cooked lunch today."
Aigoo.
Gong Hanseo smiled and greeted Nurse Cha politely. "Can I come in, Nurse Cha?"
"Of course—"
"Who are you?" the rising actor asked Gong Hanseo, raising an eyebrow at him. "It doesn’t seem like you’re here for a consultation."
"Of course not," Gong Hanseo said, speaking kindly because he was in a good mood. "I’m here to visit my lover."
The rising actor looked shocked.
On the other hand, Nurse Cha snickered.
Before Gong Hanseo could show off the ring on his finger, the door to Seong Kyungmin’s office suddenly burst open.
His lover immediately beamed when he saw Gong Hanseo.
"Babe, you’re here."
And then Seong Kyungmin grabbed Gong Hanseo by the waist, leaning down to kiss him on the lips— right in front of the rising actor, who was obviously an admirer of his lover.
***
"HYUNG, you’re really famous, aren’t you?"
Gong Hanseo said it casually while setting the table for Seong Kyungmin.
Of course, his lover didn’t just sit there and watch him do all the work— his fiancé actually helped him.
But Seong Kyungmin froze as soon as Gong Hanseo teased him.
"Hanseo-ya, I only met Lee Minil-ssi once for a consultation," Seong Kyungmin explained. "But as soon as he showed interest in me, I turned him down and referred him to a different doctor. And, as you’ve seen earlier, I turn him away every time he comes to see me."
"Good boy," Gong Hanseo said, gently patting Seong Kyungmin’s head, making his fiancé smile. "Should we just announce that we’re already engaged?"
"I’d love that, babe. I’m actually itching to announce to the entire world that we’re getting married."
Aww.
It was Gong Hanseo who asked Seong Kyungmin to keep their engagement a secret in the meantime.
He wanted to at least start their wedding preparations first before the announcement.
"Then we should start by telling our family and close friends first," Gong Hanseo said. "But, Hyung, once you tell Song Sihyuk-ssi about our engagement, can you tell him to keep it a secret from Garam in the meantime? I want to share the good news with Garam myself."
"Sure, I’ll do that."
"Thank you, Hyung."
Seong Kyungmin just nodded, and then the doctor clearly got distracted when he opened the container of the pork sinigang.
Oh, Hyung likes it.

***
Hyung said he’d just throw it if I didn’t accept it.
Is that Daeho Hyung?
I know Omegas and Alphas break up. Heck, even Garam once divorced Song Sihyuk-ssi. But for someone who used to believe that an Alpha and Omega belong to each other, it’s a shock that divorce between an Alpha and an Omega is more common than I initially thought.
