Chapter 0338
“Do you really think they’d hide a flag in a cave that could hardly be seen?” Tabby asked as we made our way through the dark cave. The drone that was above our heads had gone off to find someone they could actually keep an eye on, refusing to follow us into the cave.
Now that I was thinking about it, it was probably a bad sign. But I ignored that feeling and continued on my way.
“Honestly, yes,” I said, glancing over my shoulder at her.
She was staying by the cave’s entrance, a nervous look in her eyes.
“There could be dangerous animals in here,” she said, nibbling on her lower lip.
“Since when are you afraid of a wild animal?” I asked teasingly. She was typically braver than that..
She pressed her lips in a line and followed me through a cave.
For humans, it would be impossible to see as we walked through the cave. But we were shifters, so it was a lot easier. My heart started to pound heavily against my chest as we continued making our way through the cave. It was damp, and there were rocks we had to get over, but for the most part, we managed to reach the middle of the cave without too many issues. Both Tabby and I seemed comfortable climbing over the rocks; we were both fairly effortless in our movements.
A low growl emerged from deeper in the cave, making us freeze entirely. With a racing heart, I slowly turned, and then I saw yellow beady eyes staring back at me, sharp teeth elongated as the growl continued through the
darkness.
“Is that a wolf?” Tabby asked, stepping back, ready to shift if needed.
“No,” I said, swallowing the lump in my throat.
The longer I stared at it, the more familiar it started to get, but I knew for certain that it wasn’t a wolf. This was an actual wild animal, and if we weren’t careful, we could be its lunch.
It wasn’t until it lunged towards us that I knew for sure what it was,
“Holy shit!” Tabby gasped, quickly dodging the attack, falling to the ground in the process.
“Yeah, it’s a black bear,” I warned her, my suspicions confirmed. “And we just stepped into it’s territory.” I should have known there would be a bear somewhere in this cave; I was dumb to think it would be unoccupied.
The bear lunged at us again and, this time managed to claw a part of my arm, making me wince as I staggered backward. I felt blood trickle down my shoulder, but I ignored it, keeping my attention on the bear in front of me.
“Judy, look,” Tabby said, pointing to the bear. “Around it’s neck.”
I followed her finger, and my breathing hitched.
Around its neck was one of our flags.
“How did they get it around a black bear’s neck?” I asked, both terrified and impressed.
They truly went all out.
“How did they even get it around its neck?” I counter–asked. If we figured out how they got it around its neck in the first place, maybe we can reverse- uno.
“Maybe they drugged it?” She suggested.
The roaring sound of the bear halted our conversation as I tried to think about what to do.
“Distract it while I strip,” I told her as I shuffled out of my shoes.
Her
eyes grew wide.
“How do I distract a black bear?” She asked, her mouth agape.
“I don’t know, think of something,” I told her just as the bear lunged again. “Throw rocks at it!”
It seemed the bear was attacking me personally, completely dismissing Tabby. Her distraction could prove to be useful.
She growled at the bear, getting its attention. Instead of lunging at me, it started to lunge at her. She was pretty well off, though. She was a capable fighter and managed to circle it, avoiding getting hurt. She used rocks to avert its attention and keep its eyes off me.

The readers' comments on the novel: Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law
This story is all over the place. i'm trying my best to keep going because he would be so good The writer and editor communicated at least a little. (Yes I understand its 1 maybe 2 people writing and tending to the story) However, everyone needs to be on the same page. The characters names continue to change: Rachel at first then her name changed to Rebecca, Ethans sister name is now jenna. some times they talk in 3rd person which I'm sure is a accident when its in that characters POV. How did we do a time jump 5 years making Matt 13 with Judy's son being 5 years old but when we get to the Blackwell story line he's nine again and she's still pregnant using her time with matt to gain experience with her son. What happened to the time jump....
Is it just me, or do they add chapters daily for one week then leave you in suspense for a week before they start posting again? The book is amazing, but it's frustrating being in such high excitement and thrill then being left with your mind boggling....
Thank you for continuing to write this story! Trying to be grateful for the recent 2 small chapters a day, however due to enjoying it so much, wish they were more and longer....
Could the author please get the names correct…CHESTER is Nan’s mate —NOT Chuck. I don’t know who is writing these chapters, but I do not think it is the original author. Considering the original author has quite a few ongoing stories, she must have handed this one off to someone else. Very disappointing!...
Has the author forgot her own story? Didn't lila/Racheal date gavin when he first got Mathew? Meaning that she's the same or similar age as gavin! Now it's changed that she's born on the same day as Judy......
This book has gone off the rails. First there was a Five Years Later chapter where everyone had kids and Irene was marked and pregnant by Chuck and now they're not mated and Chuck is a slime ball. Make it make sense....
I don't understand thus story. Didn't she just win 5 million in the gamma games? Why is she living with people and not in her own place?...
No updates/new chapters since 10/14/2025???? This is so frustrating for those of us who have followed this book/author from the beginning! So disappointing!...
Why no updates posted since 9/20/25????...
Well that.....sucked. That can't seriously be the ending? Tf?...
