“You don’t look so bad either,” I said, a smile spreading across my face as I took him in.
He grinned down at me, our bodies only inches from one another now.
“Have fun, you two,” Irene said with a wink.
Gavin’s eyes never left mine as he took hold of my hand.
“Are you ready to go?” He asked.
I nodded.
“Yes.”
With that, we left for the auction.
The auction was a little over an hour away in neutral territory. It was held at a large and gorgeous museum. White pillars stood tall around the archway entrance, and I could see bouncers standing outside the door, checking in guests. Those I could see wore elegant gowns and tailored suits, and though I too wore an elegant gown, I felt a bit self-conscious, like I didn’t belong here.
Feeling Gavin’s hand on the small of my back sent an unexpected warmth throughout my body, making my cheeks flush as I looked up at him. He smiled down at me, his eyes shining with love and admiration, and suddenly I no longer felt out of place. I was exactly where I was meant to be… by Gavin’s side.
We walked sideways upside up to the entrance where the bouncers stood. One look at Gavin and they both bowed.
“Good evening, Alpha,” one of them said. “You may enter. Enjoy the auction.”
He didn’t even have to look at the guest list to know that Gavin was on it. Gavin nodded and guided me past them and into the museum.
I didn’t know much about art, but the pieces in this museum looked expensive and important. The watercolors and passion thrown into each piece took my breath away, and I couldn’t seem to look away.
“The auction is this way,” Gavin told me, motioning for a door on the other side of the room, which seemed to be gathering a ton of people.
I walked with him through the crowd, ignoring the stares from the onlookers. I’m sure this was something Gavin was used to at this point, but I wasn’t used to it. I still felt uncomfortable by the attention even after winning the gamma competition and being globally featured in every news story.
“Uh… thank you,” I replied, trying to sound proper, but failing miserably.
“It’s new, but soon I will be making her my Luna,” Gavin continued.
“A Luna?” Another voice said from close by, making my body freeze. Gavin, too, seemed to have tensed; I recognized that voice, and it wasn’t one I thought I would hear again.
I turned my body, reluctantly.
“I really didn’t think that Judy was a Luna material… but to each their own, I suppose…” she continued, her eyes scanning me from head to toe, making my cheeks burn.
Gavin’s hold on my waist tightened, and I could see his jaw clenching.
“What are you doing here, Rebecca? Or should I say…. Lila?”

This story is all over the place. i'm trying my best to keep going because he would be so good The writer and editor communicated at least a little. (Yes I understand its 1 maybe 2 people writing and tending to the story) However, everyone needs to be on the same page. The characters names continue to change: Rachel at first then her name changed to Rebecca, Ethans sister name is now jenna. some times they talk in 3rd person which I'm sure is a accident when its in that characters POV. How did we do a time jump 5 years making Matt 13 with Judy's son being 5 years old but when we get to the Blackwell story line he's nine again and she's still pregnant using her time with matt to gain experience with her son. What happened to the time jump....
Is it just me, or do they add chapters daily for one week then leave you in suspense for a week before they start posting again? The book is amazing, but it's frustrating being in such high excitement and thrill then being left with your mind boggling....
Thank you for continuing to write this story! Trying to be grateful for the recent 2 small chapters a day, however due to enjoying it so much, wish they were more and longer....
Could the author please get the names correct…CHESTER is Nan’s mate —NOT Chuck. I don’t know who is writing these chapters, but I do not think it is the original author. Considering the original author has quite a few ongoing stories, she must have handed this one off to someone else. Very disappointing!...
Has the author forgot her own story? Didn't lila/Racheal date gavin when he first got Mathew? Meaning that she's the same or similar age as gavin! Now it's changed that she's born on the same day as Judy......
This book has gone off the rails. First there was a Five Years Later chapter where everyone had kids and Irene was marked and pregnant by Chuck and now they're not mated and Chuck is a slime ball. Make it make sense....
I don't understand thus story. Didn't she just win 5 million in the gamma games? Why is she living with people and not in her own place?...
No updates/new chapters since 10/14/2025???? This is so frustrating for those of us who have followed this book/author from the beginning! So disappointing!...
