“And you think it could be related?” Taylor asked, slightly taken aback.
“I don’t know. But I think it’s a good place to start,” I told him. “Are you able to do some digging?”
“Yeah, of course. I’ll see what I can find out.”
I nodded and put my hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze.
“Not sure what I’d do without you,” I said to him. “Thanks, man.”
Taylor nodded.
“I aim to please,” he said, giving me a sly grin.
With that, we parted ways. I went home to my family, though it was late, so I knew Matthew would be in bed by now. Judy was supposed to spend the day planning our wedding with Irene and Nan, and when I entered the parlor, all three of them were passed out on the couch.
I couldn’t help but smile as I caught a glimpse of Irene’s head on Judy’s shoulder, the two of them looking so peaceful in their slumber.
Nan was curled up on the other couch, lightly snoring, and I thought about taking a quick video for Chester. But then I saw her phone lighting up and Chester’s picture appearing on the screen. Next to it was the amount of times he called… 25.
Her phone was on silent, so she didn’t hear it or feel its vibrations. Knowing Chester, he was probably freaking out over the fact that she hadn’t returned home yet. I know I would be if it were Judy.
I grabbed Nan’s phone and pressed the talk button, putting it to my ear.
“Chester,” I said, trying to keep my voice low so I wouldn’t wake anyone.
“Alpha,” Chester asked, breathless and worry evident in his tone. “Where’s Nan? Why are you answering her phone?”
“Nan’s fine. She fell asleep at the villa with Judy and Irene. I just got home…” I told him.
“She’s sleeping?” He asked.
“She is. Want me to send you a pic?”
I could hear him swallowing.
“I thought…” his voice trailed off for a moment. “I thought something bad had happened. I was so scared.”
“You’re her mate… you’d feel it if something bad happened,” I reminded him.
“She blocks me from sharing that part of her. She thinks it’s weird being able to share our feelings like that, and she wants privacy,” he muttered. “So, no… I can’t feel her.”
“We should get to bed,” I murmured, pressing my lips to her temple. “It’s late.”
“What about them?” She asked, peeking down at Irene and Nan.
“Irene’s good there. And Chester is coming to deal with Nan,” I assured her. “My focus right now is you.”
She looked down, her cheeks flushing slightly.
“I might have done something…” she said, her heart beating rapidly and so loudly that I could hear it.
I raised my brows.
“What exactly did you do?”
She was quiet for a long time before she took a deep breath and then looked up at me, her eyes meeting mine.
“I might have found Coraline Blackwell…”

This story is all over the place. i'm trying my best to keep going because he would be so good The writer and editor communicated at least a little. (Yes I understand its 1 maybe 2 people writing and tending to the story) However, everyone needs to be on the same page. The characters names continue to change: Rachel at first then her name changed to Rebecca, Ethans sister name is now jenna. some times they talk in 3rd person which I'm sure is a accident when its in that characters POV. How did we do a time jump 5 years making Matt 13 with Judy's son being 5 years old but when we get to the Blackwell story line he's nine again and she's still pregnant using her time with matt to gain experience with her son. What happened to the time jump....
Is it just me, or do they add chapters daily for one week then leave you in suspense for a week before they start posting again? The book is amazing, but it's frustrating being in such high excitement and thrill then being left with your mind boggling....
Thank you for continuing to write this story! Trying to be grateful for the recent 2 small chapters a day, however due to enjoying it so much, wish they were more and longer....
Could the author please get the names correct…CHESTER is Nan’s mate —NOT Chuck. I don’t know who is writing these chapters, but I do not think it is the original author. Considering the original author has quite a few ongoing stories, she must have handed this one off to someone else. Very disappointing!...
Has the author forgot her own story? Didn't lila/Racheal date gavin when he first got Mathew? Meaning that she's the same or similar age as gavin! Now it's changed that she's born on the same day as Judy......
This book has gone off the rails. First there was a Five Years Later chapter where everyone had kids and Irene was marked and pregnant by Chuck and now they're not mated and Chuck is a slime ball. Make it make sense....
I don't understand thus story. Didn't she just win 5 million in the gamma games? Why is she living with people and not in her own place?...
No updates/new chapters since 10/14/2025???? This is so frustrating for those of us who have followed this book/author from the beginning! So disappointing!...
