The moments that leave a deep impression during a relationship often become an untouchable golden card.
However, for someone who has betrayed love, even that golden card becomes useless.
Eliza could endure for seven years because, during this time, there was no third party involved.
She could convince herself with the memories of those moments.
Even when Calvin began to grow cold toward her in the last year, even ignoring her, she could accept it.
But betrayal was something she could never accept.
Betrayal doesn’t only kill the person who betrays; it kills the one who is betrayed.
Despite having a sleepless night, Eliza woke up at 5:50 AM, as usual.
Her hands and feet were icy because they had been outside the blanket.
No wonder she had that dream.
Though she had turned the page, the memories still moved her when she thought about them.
People are not documents that you can delete parts from or keep things you want.
People can only let time blur everything away.
In the morning, Josh personally came to Apex to exchange cars with Eliza. She felt quite embarrassed. “You’ve already helped me, and now you’ve even come in person. I had planned to have Sadie send it to you this afternoon.”
Josh guessed she would feel that way, so he made the trip himself.
They hadn’t worked together recently, and Eliza had been busy.
He hadn’t seen her in a while.
It was a rare opportunity, so he came himself. Of course, he didn’t mention this to Eliza, instead asking about the project’s progress.
Eliza replied, “It’s moving forward as expected, though we’re short on staff, so everyone is working overtime.”
“If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask,” he offered.
“Thanks,” she replied.
Josh only stayed for a short while before leaving since Eliza was too busy.
His presence would have been a distraction.
As he left Apex, Gideon immediately tagged everyone in the group chat, saying that he had just accompanied Medea to a prestigious financial magazine interview in Washington. The cover shoot turned out beautiful, and the issue would be released next month. He encouraged everyone to support it.
Baxter responded with an “OK” gesture.
Josh quickly turned off the screen without replying.

As soon as he got into the car, Medea called.
He glanced at the screen, then put the phone on silent and set it aside, focusing on driving.
Medea was surprised that the call didn’t go through.
“What’s up with Josh lately? He’s been MIA–no meetings, no meals, not even responding to messages in the group,” Gideon muttered.
Medea looked at the missed call, lost in thought for a moment.
She and Josh had broken up, but they remained friends.
She always thought she still held some weight with him.
But recently, Josh had stopped replying to her messages and calls, which made her uncomfortable.
“Could it be he’s busy with a relationship?” she thought aloud.
Her expression cooled, and after a pause, she replied, “He’s probably just busy with work.”
Gideon didn’t quite understand. “But even if he’s busy with work, he should at least reply to a message. I still think something’s going on. I’m going to investigate. We can’t have a ‘sister–in–law‘ suddenly popping up out of nowhere, now that would be scary.”
Medea’s mood soured as she put away her phone.
“Suit yourself.”
As the product launch for ASKHEART approached, Eliza became increasingly busy, sometimes forgetting to eat.
Fortunately, Sadie was always there.
She made sure to prepare meals for Eliza on time, always choosing dishes Eliza liked.
Eliza’s stomach issues hadn’t flared up in a long time.
She asked Sadie, “When did you become so familiar with my preferences?”
Sadie replied, “Observation! As a secretary, it’s crucial to know the boss’s likes and dislikes. It helps provide more thoughtful and efficient service, which builds a good working relationship.”
Eliza praised her, “Your progress really impresses me!”
Sadie puffed up a little with pride. “Because I have a great boss!”
“Now, hurry and eat before it gets cold,” Sadie urged.
Eliza sat by and checked her phone.
She must have come across something because she muttered indignantly, “She really has the face to accept that award!”
“What?” Eliza asked casually.
“Medea. Everest actually gave her the Employee of the Year award!” Sadie said.
Eliza rolled her eyes, “Not a big deal. Alright, I’m done. Please inform everyone for the meeting later.”
With that, Eliza focused back on her work.

Chapter 102
That night, she worked overtime until after eleven. By the time she got home, it was past midnight. After a quick shower, she collapsed onto the bed, ready to fall asleep instantly.
Just as she was about to drift into unconsciousness, she suddenly opened her eyes.
With the last bit of energy, she got out of bed and walked to the table, grabbing the award she had been using as a vase.
Without hesitation, she threw it into the trash bin.
After a moment, she took the trash bag downstairs and tossed it in the trash, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction before heading back to bed to sleep.
With just three days left before the ASKHEART launch, Eliza wanted to invite some major media outlets to attend the event.
But after contacting several, all of them responded that they were unavailable that day.
At first, Eliza thought it might be a coincidence, but after several rejections, her suspicion grew.
She had one of her media friends investigate and learned the truth.
On the same day as the ASKHEART launch, Flying was holding its celebratory banquet. Medea had invited all the mainstream media in Washington to
attend.
