Seven Years a Fool One Day a Queen (Kristine and Colton) novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Eliza smelled a strong alcohol scent on Calvin, likely from a recent drinking session.

She instinctively tried to keep him outside, not letting him in.

But Calvin was quicker, roughly pushing her aside and walking into the room.

The rental apartment wasn’t large, just a single living room, kitchen, and bathroom. In less than a minute, Calvin had thoroughly searched the place. Eliza didn’t stop him, instead, sending out a quick text message.

After scanning the room and finding no one else, Calvin turned toward Eliza.

She was still focused on her phone and didn’t notice the man approaching until it was too late.

By the time she realized, he was already too close.

Eliza felt threatened and instinctively backed away, but the door was right behind her. There was nowhere else to retreat.

Calvin pushed her firmly against the door, his force overwhelmingnothing a woman like her could fight against.

He quickly controlled her, grabbing her chin and lowering his head to kiss her lips.

The unfamiliar yet familiar scent, mixed with alcohol, overwhelmed Eliza, making her eyes well up.

Without hesitation, she raised her hand to slap him across the face.

But Calvin anticipated the move, seizing her wrist and pulling it high above her head.

Eliza’s entire upper body was forced to arch backward, providing him with an easier angle to deepen the kiss without restraint.

Her limbs and body were paralyzed, and the only thing she could do was bite him.

She didn’t hesitate for a second.

However, her actions didn’t stop his wild behavior; instead, it seemed to enrage him even more.

He tilted his head and bit down hard on her collarbone, not sparing any strength.

The pain made Eliza struggle desperately. Calvin, what’s wrong with you?she cried out.

Let go of me!she demanded, but Calvin remained silent, his body radiating a cold, destructive anger.

His hand, which had been cruelly gripping her slim waist, now yanked at her nightgown, tearing it mercilessly.

The sound of the fabric ripping struck Eliza like a sharp jolt, causing her tense body to snap.

With all the strength she had left, she managed to slap Calvin across the face with all her might. This time, he didn’t dodge he took the hit, his face turning as he was struck.

Eliza’s breath was ragged, her palm stinging with the same painful intensity.

She clenched her fist tightly, fighting to suppress the emotions rising within her

Her fragile heart, already torn and scarred, was now shattered once again by him

Perhaps that slap finally woke Calvin up.

He loosened his grip on her and took a step back.

Her lips bore a faint trace of bloodhis blood.

Her nightgown’s collar was torn, exposing part of her shoulder. The mark from his bite on her collarbone was now a distinct bruise, a dark imprint from his teeth.

Eliza’s fair skin made the bite mark stand out even more.

Calvin’s gaze burned into the red mark on her skin, his throat tightening, unable to say anything.

They both stood there, silent for what felt like an eternity.

Eliza finally pulled herself together, closed the collar of her nightgown, and opened the door.

She spoke to him in a low, calm voice, Get out!

Her voice was soft, distant, like it was coming from somewhere far away, unclear and almost ethereal, much like the state she was in, on the verge of breaking.

Calvin stood there, suddenly struck by something, his chest aching.

After five seconds of silence, he spoke, I’m sorry, I’ve had too much to drink.

So it’s okay to come to my house and go crazy just because you’ve been drinking?Eliza sneered at him, her words sharp.

That disgusts me, Calvin!she added, her voice like a razor’s edge.

He fell silent for a few more seconds.

Leave, and don’t ever come back to bother me again! Don’t make me regret ever loving you!Eliza’s voice cracked as she spoke.

Calvin’s Adam’s apple moved, as if he had something to say but didn’t know where to begin.

Before he could speak, his phone rang. It was a call from Medea.

When Medea arrived, she found Calvin sitting on the curb by the flower bed, smoking a cigarette. The cigarette, almost burnt out, was still held between his fingers, unmoving.

A gust of night wind blew by, and the glowing ashes from the cigarette fell onto his hand, the heat making him unconsciously shake.

He turned his gaze away from the far distance and looked down at the burn mark on his hand where the ashes had landed.

It was obvious.

He didn’t feel any pain, only numbly lifted the cigarette to his lips and took a few more puffs before finally crushing the cigarette butt into the flower

bed.

Calv,Medea finally spoke, calling him.

When Calvin stood up, he was back to his usual indifferent demeanor, calm and cold.

He asked her, Why are you here?

Perhaps it was due to all the smoking, but his voice was rougher than usual, hoarse.

Medea paused before replying, Eliza sent me a message saying you were here and asked me to come get you

Calvin wasn’t surprised by her answer.

Eliza had always been the perfect ex. When it was over, it was truly over, with no turning back. She never wanted to have anything to do with him again.

Let’s go.Calvin said, without saying anything else.

There were a lot of questions Medea wanted to ask him.

Why did he come to see Eliza?

What happened between them?

Why did Eliza send her a message to come pick him up?

But all those questions were stuck in her throat, and she didn’t know how to ask.

Calvin didn’t seem like he wanted to explain himself, so Medea swallowed her doubts, catching up to him with a quick run, saying, Don’t drink so much next time.

Calvin muttered a brief acknowledgment in response, a sound more out of habit than actual concern.

As he got in the car and closed his eyes to rest, his face was devoid of expression, with an aura of coldness around his eyes and brows.

When Medea turned the car around, she saw a familiar car parked across the street in an openair parking lot.

Her mind immediately went into questioning mode.

Why was Josh’s car here?

That night, Eliza had a restless sleep, tossing and turning.

When she finally fell asleep, she began to dream.
