Medea’s lips curled into a small smile. “Calvin’s gone to pick up my parents.”

Gideon and Baxter were both surprised.

They had known each other for many years, but they had never seen Calvin so attentive to anyone.

He was even going to pick up the parents of his partner.

It was clear that he truly cared about Medea, showing just how much he valued her!

“Is Minister Wynn coming today too?”

Medea nodded. “Yes, my father has always supported my career, and this important occasion, he definitely wanted to be here.”

“That’s true. If I had even half of your success, my dad would probably be waiting at the door to greet guests!”

Gideon joked, then added, “Calvin is being so thoughtful toward his future father–in–law. I bet your father hasn’t had this treatment before, right? By the way, is his father coming today?”

The last question was clearly an offhand remark, but it hit a sensitive nerve in Medea.

More than anyone, she hoped that Calvin’s father, Mr. Young, would attend and support her.

It would mean his approval, and the marriage between her and Calvin could be brought up sooner.

But since Calvin hadn’t mentioned it, she didn’t dare to bring it up either.

She just felt she hadn’t reached the right height yet, and that was why she hadn’t received Mr. Young’s attention.

So, she would keep working hard to climb higher.

Someday, Mr. Young would recognize her.

Since Gideon had asked, Medea quickly composed herself and answered,

“Mr. Young retired years ago and announced that he no longer attends such events, so I didn’t disturb him.”

Gideon didn’t doubt her at all. “Right, we only get to see Mr. Young when we visit him during the New Year.”

Bazter suddenly interjected, “Who said that? Didn’t we see him just last time at Serenity Estates?”

The three of them fell silent.

It was true they had seen him in person, but it had only been through someone else.

And that someone was Eliza, someone Medea didn’t want to mention.

The atmosphere turned awkward, and Gideon quickly changed the topic, saying he’d ordered an expensive bottle of champagne from Arabian Winery to celebrate with Medea.

Her expression softened.

Arabian’s wines were well–known for their high price, and this showed Gideon’s genuine respect for her.

Just then, Regina called Medea to let her know they had arrived.

Medea immediately lifted her skirt and went out to greet them.

Gideon turned to Baxter, saying, “Let’s go greet them too.”

“You go ahead, I’ll take this call,” Baxter replied.

“What call could be so important to answer now?” Gideon asked, confused.

Baxter helplessly showed him the screen, “It’s my dad’s.”

“Then you take the call. I’ll go ahead.”

Baxter thought his father, Rhett, was calling to remind him not to forget the ASKHEART press conference.

He was about to assure Gideon he would go after the call when his father told him he was already on his way.

Baxter froze. “You’re coming too?”

“Yeah, not just me. The Chamber of Commerce is coming too.”

Baxter’s expression darkened, “I’ll be there soon.”

On the other side, Eliza was calmly handling work matters when her phone rang again.

It was a call from Mr. Young.

She thought it was just another check–in about the situation like the previous one, so she quickly picked up the phone and gave him the update.

“The ASKHEART self–developed large model was successfully launched at 7 AM today on all major app stores. The download numbers are good, and the data is promising.”

There was a brief pause on the other end, then Mr. Young said, “I’m almost at the venue.”

Eliza was taken aback. “You’re coming in person?”

“Yeah, just coming to take a look.”

Mr. Young’s tone was flat, as though he were casually stepping out for a walk.

But Eliza knew that ever since his retirement, he had avoided attending such events.

He was clearly coming specifically for this.

But he would never express it.

This was something he had in common with Calvin.

Eliza quickly left the room to greet Mr. Young.

In her hurry, she bumped into someone at the revolving door.

It wasn’t hard, but Eliza quickly apologized. “Sorry.”

“It’s fine,” the man replied.

The light impact didn’t bother him at all.

After Eliza left, the man stood there, watching her walk away.

He was lost in thought.

For a brief moment, he felt like time had reversed.

He almost called out her name.

If only her eyes hadn’t looked so unfamiliar to him.

“Dad!”

Medea’s cheerful voice snapped him back to reality.

She saw her father, Caesar, and immediately called out to him happily.

Caesar smiled warmly, “Why did you come out? It’s inconvenient in a dress.”

“I wanted to personally greet you and Mom.”

Medea glanced around, then asked, “Where’s Mom? Didn’t she come with you?”

“She left her phone in the car. Calvin went with her to get it.”

Before Caesar had finished speaking, Calvin entered with Regina.

“Mom!” Medea sweetly hugged Regina.

Regina quickly said, “Don’t ruin your dress.”

“I won’t. The stylist is here, and they’ll fix it if anything goes wrong.”

Medea was in a good mood as she warmly interacted with her parents and still took the time to thank Calvin. “Calvin, thanks for going to pick up my

parents.”

“Let’s go inside.” Calvin gestured for them to enter.

Medea led her parents in, saying, “The banquet is starting soon. You came just in time. If you were any later, we’d be late. Was there traffic on the way?”
