Washington is a city renowned for its river and mountain views.

From the floor–to–ceiling windows of her office, Eliza could see the best view of the Washington river.

She couldn’t believe that she had managed to find an office that met all her requirements so quickly, and at such an affordable price.

The Everest building was right across the river.

But that didn’t dampen Eliza’s mood at all.

In fact, it became a driving force for her to keep pushing forward!

Eliza immediately shared the good news with Enzo.

He said it was definitely worth celebrating.

So, Eliza decided to treat the entire office to dinner that evening and asked Enzo to invite Thea as well, since she had the day off.

When the elevator door opened, she heard someone speaking, “Director Kallis, I didn’t expect you to personally come to inspect our company. My name is Lucas Doyle. If it’s convenient, we can exchange contact information. If you need anything, just let me know, and I can personally deliver any documents to Everest, no need for you to make a special trip.”

It was only then that Eliza noticed who was in the elevator.

It was Medea, but this time there was no Calvin, just her and Lucas.

Eliza recognized Lucas as one of the project leaders at SciGames, a company she had been familiar with when she was still at Everest.

Enzo felt Japanese food was a bit expensive and instinctively tried to save Eliza some money.

Eliza made up her mind. “Let’s have Japanese food! Ocean’s Delight restaurant is quite good. Let’s go there.”

Enzo couldn’t argue with her. “Okay, Ocean’s Delight it is. It’s far from your office, so don’t bother going back, we can meet directly at Ocean’s Delight after work.”

“Sounds good.”

The phone call ended, and the elevator reached the first floor.

Eliza stepped out, only to realize it had started raining.

A cold front had swept in, and the temperature in Washington had dropped to its lowest point of the year.

Even though Eliza wore a cashmere coat, she still felt cold.

She had rushed out in the morning and hadn’t checked the weather forecast, so she didn’t bring an umbrella.

The sudden rain left her stranded outside.

Eliza pulled her coat tighter and decided to wait for the rain to ease up a little before heading out.

At that moment, Medea and Lucas stepped out of the building.

Lucas, noticing the rain, immediately said, “It’s raining. Director Kallis, did you come by car or taxi? If it’s inconvenient, I can give you a ride.”

Medea politely declined, “No need, my boyfriend is coming to pick me up.”

Lucas, clearly envious, replied, “I’ve heard that Director Kallis and Mr. Young have a great relationship. It’s nice to finally see it in person.”

Medea’s tone was filled with undisguised sweetness. “He was supposed to come with me today, but he had something urgent to handle, so he couldn’t

make it.”

No wonder they weren’t together.

Having seen how inseparable they were, it was a bit odd to only see one of them.

“You two have such a great relationship! Is it just a matter of time before something big happens?”

Lucas was clearly trying to build rapport with Medea and deliberately brought up topics she was interested in.

This was exactly why Eliza had avoided interacting with Lucas before.

He was always scheming and preferred taking shortcuts rather than focusing on his career.

The core of SciGames was still mainly held together by Erik.

Before Medea could answer, Calvin arrived in his car.

He drove himself, even though he usually had a dedicated driver.

In the past, it was either Brace or Eliza who drove him.

But since he had been with Medea, he had no problem driving her around.

However, this wasn’t the silver topped Maybach he usually drove; it was a new/car, and judging by the color, it looked more feminine,

It seemed likely that he bought it specifically for Meden.

Eliza didn’t try to avoid looking at them and instead casually turned her gaze away, pulling out her phone to request a ride.

If the rain didn’t let up, she couldn’t just stand there.

Calvin held an umbrella to escort Medea, and as she got into the car, he draped a coat over her shoulders.

“Mr. Young, we were just talking about you and Director Kallis,” Lucas tried to flatter Calvin.

Calvin smiled and asked, “What were you talking about?”

“We were talking about how great your relationship is, it’s really enviable.”

Calvin just smiled and didn’t respond.

Medea then asked with concern, “How is Uncle Young doing?”

Calvin replied, “He’s almost better now, he should be discharged in a couple of days.”

“I should go visit him.”

When Medea said this, her eyes held a trace of hope.

Calvin answered, “His temper’s not great, I don’t want you to be upset.”

“I don’t mind, after all, he’s your father.”
