Chapter 87
“Do you two know when we can have the pleasure of drinking your wedding wine?”
Calvin’s reply wasn’t clear, and Eliza didn’t catch it properly.
Enzo glanced at Eliza with concern.
Eliza noticed and asked, “Do I have something on my face?”
Enzo shook his head.
“Then why do you keep staring at me?”
“…Nothing.”
“Just eat your food.”
Enzo quietly let out a sigh of relief.
It seemed Eliza had really let go of Calvin.
He was genuinely happy for her!
Their dinner was a casual gathering without talk of work, so it ended on a pleasant note.
However, when they went to pay, the server informed her that the bill had already been settled.
Eliza glanced at the receipt and realized it was Josh who had paid.
“She quickly sent him a message, inviting him for a meal next time.
Josh agreed promptly, his face visibly pleased.
Medea noticed his reaction and paused for a moment. She subconsciously glanced at his phone screen, wanting to see who had sent the message.
Josh immediately locked the screen, and she didn’t get a good look at it.
But her intuition told her it was Eliza who had messaged him.
Once the office had been finalized, Eliza had a lot to deal with.
But she still took the time to visit Patrick in the hospital
She deliberately chose Wednesday, the busiest day for Calvin
Being his secretary for so long, she knew his work habits all too well
Nancy was overjoyed to see her.
Even Patrick’s face softened for the first time in a while.
“ASKHEART, is that the project you’ve incubated?” Patrick asked about her work.
After receiving Eliza’s confirmation, Patrick nodded in approval.

“Good eye. I had industry professionals evaluate this project, and its development prospects are very promising.”
His praise was a huge encouragement to Eliza and boosted her confidence.
Nancy cut an apple for Eliza and said, “Oh, can’t you two talk about something else? You’re both lying in a hospital bed, and you’re still talking about work.”
“Calvin is the same. Workaholic, really. He came here yesterday, sat for less than ten minutes, then left. So busy.”
Workaholic?
More like love–stricken!
Spending all his time supporting Medea, acting like a conjoined twin, yet he couldn’t even spare time to visit his sick father.
What a ‘great son‘ he was!
Eliza silently ate the apple, making no comment.
Patrick scoffed, “Who cares if he visits me?”
“A tough mouth, but soft heart.”
Nancy didn’t press Patrick further and instead grabbed her phone to call Calvin.
Since Eliza had just arrived, she wanted these two kids to meet.
She still hoped to play matchmaker.
But when the phone rang through, a woman picked up the call.
Nancy was stunned for a moment, double–checking that she hadn’t dialed the wrong number. She asked, “Who are you?”
Nancy had the volume on her phone turned up high, and even though she didn’t use speakerphone, anyone nearby could hear.
The voice that came through was unmistakably Medea’s. Eliza wasn’t surprised.
After all, the two of them were getting along well, very close, practically inseparable,
It was normal for Medea to answer the phone for Calvin.
“I’m Calvin’s girlfriend, Medea. I know Nancy. Is something wrong with Uncle Young?” Medea’s tone was polite, not as arrogant as usual.
“Girlfriend?” Nancy shot a cold glance at Eliza, then coldly remarked, “Calvin never mentioned anything about that.”
Medea hesitated for a moment before replying, “Sorry, I should have visited Uncle Young since he’s in the hospital, but Calvin has been too busy lately. and that’s why I couldn’t come.”
Nancy wasn’t in the mood for small talk.
Since the call wasn’t being answered by Calvin, she hung up without even saying goodbye..
Patrick’s face turned colder. After a pause, he asked Eliza, “Do you have time this weekend?”
“Yes,” she replied.
“Then come to Serenity Estates.”
This was something Patrick had promised earlier he would introduce some friends to her.

Eliza nodded seriously, “Alright, I’ll be there on time.”
When Eliza was leaving the hospital, Nancy insisted on escorting her to the entrance.
However, the real reason wasn’t to see her off; Nancy was actually trying to dig for information.
Eliza made it clear to Nancy.
She and Calvin were over.
There was absolutely no chance for reconciliation!
Nancy seemed a bit saddened. “How did things end up like this?”
She couldn’t understand it.
Eliza was set to meet Enzo in the afternoon to discuss cooperation with LeadTech.
For convenience, Enzo came to pick her up directly from the hospital.
So, as soon as Eliza came out, Enzo, waiting outside, immediately came up to her.
“Is it over?” Enzo asked, handing her a thermos. “This is the brown sugar water Thea made for you. She asked me to make sure you drink it all.”
After returning home the previous night, Eliza had shown clear symptoms of PMS.
Ever since her miscarriage, her menstrual periods had been extremely painful.
When she mentioned she wasn’t feeling well while chatting with Thea the night before, Thea had remembered and made brown sugar water for Eliza, making sure she would drink it.
Such a thoughtful gesture.
“Make sure to thank her for me,” Eliza said, receiving the thoughtful gesture.
Enzo continued, “It’s gotten colder again. I’ve brought you a scarf. Wear it later.”
“Okay.”
Nancy observed their interaction, and as someone with experience, she could tell what was going on between them.
It was clear Enzo liked Eliza.
As for whether Eliza felt the same, she wasn’t sure yet.
At first, Nancy was surprised, but then she thought it made sense.
Eliza was such an outstanding woman, of course, she’d be in high demand.
