When Medea heard Josh’s voice, her gaze instantly darkened.

Her fingers tightened around her teacup, and her nails turned white from the force.

She hadn’t expected that Mr. Vega and Josh would reject her, only to do so for Eliza.

She could understand Mr. Vega’s rejection, but Josh?

Was he truly disregarding their past relationship?

Calvin noticed her change in demeanor and took the wine glass from her hand. “Let’s go say hello,” he said.

Medea froze for a moment.

“I’ll go with you,” Calvin added.

His simple words clearly meant, “I’m here for you.”

Josh’s appearance was unexpected.

He explained that he had just finished a business meeting nearby and had seen on social media that they were gathering, so he came over to say hi.

Of course, that was just the official excuse.

The truth was, he had made up an excuse to see her.

““That’s quite a coincidence,” Eliza said, not suspecting anything, and asked the server to add another set of utensils.

Sadie prepared to move to give Josh space.

Thea, who had sharp eyes, immediately stood up and said, “You sit here. I’m almost done eating, and since I won’t understand your business talk, I’ll go take some pictures.”

Thea sat next to Enzo, leaving a seat between her and Eliza.

Sadie, however, sat next to Eliza.

She wasn’t going to let her brother’s rival have an opportunity!

Josh had barely sat down when the door to the private room was knocked again.

Eliza thought it was Mr. Vega and was feeling a bit troubled.

“About the Entrepreneur Conference,” Calvin replied.

This was indeed an important matter.

Josh excused himself and said to Eliza, “I have to step out, but I’ll take you out for a meal another day.”

“It’s fine, you go ahead,” Eliza replied.

Eliza had been Calvin’s chief secretary for so many years, so she understood how crucial the Entrepreneur Conference was.

Especially now, with Josh needing to attend such events to solidify Unite’s position.

But she couldn’t understand why Calvin had called Josh away during her dinner.

Mr. Vega, being accustomed to big events, wasn’t at all embarrassed by the encounter. He instead greeted them warmly, “Oh, Calvin, Medea, what a coincidence! You’re here for dinner too?”

Medea responded coldly, barely nodding, still upset about Mr. Vega canceling on her.

But Mr. Vega didn’t mind, still keeping a friendly tone, “Since we’ve run into each other, shall we join in?”

“I’m discussing the Entrepreneur Conference with Josh. Mr. Vega, if you don’t mind, you’re welcome to join us,” Calvin invited, not turning him down at all.

“Sure!” Mr. Vega agreed without hesitation.

After all, Calvin was the head of Everest, a rising star in the financial world of Washington, so being invited was indeed a privilege.

Even though Mr. Vega also wanted to chat with Eliza, he understood priorities and was aware of Calvin’s position.

Eliza couldn’t compare to Calvin, and naturally, Mr. Vega had to make his choice.

Seeing that Mr. Vega made his decision so quickly, Medea couldn’t help but curl the corner of her lips.

Her gaze shifted from Eliza to Enzo.
