Chapter 177
Linda instinctively turned around.
When she saw the man’s face, she couldn’t help but let out a gasp.
She thought, ‘Damn, he’s so handsome.’

Sebastian stood ramrod-straight, an easy six-three, presence loud enough to fill the doorway. Chiseled, magazine-cover features, zero expression, framed by rimless glasses perched on that blade of a nose.
His storm-gray eyes stayed remote, arrogant. Right now, he was braced against the glass door with one hand, and it felt like he was leaning straight into Linda’s pulse.
Sebastian snapped, “Get out of the way.”
Linda stepped aside.
Sebastian didn’t even look at her as he walked past, heading straight for Stella.
He awkwardly supported his glasses with one hand, clearly not used to the motion.
His long legs were encased in black dress pants, making him look like he’d just stepped off a runway.
The sound of people sucking in their breath filled the North District Precinct.
And every single one came from the women.
Stella stared as Sebastian strode over, his shirt unbuttoned at the top three, the open collar catching her eye, and his cool, masculine cologne hitting her instantly.
He came to a stop right in front of her, his black leather shoes just inches away from Stella.
Broderick looked totally lost.
He thought, ‘Who the hell is this guy?
‘Why is he getting all up in Stella’s space?’
“It was you! You set me up on purpose!” Lauren suddenly exploded, snatching up the dirty mop bucket and swinging it at Stella, ready to drench her. She shouted, “Go to hell!”
In a flash, Stella found herself swept off her feet, cradled in a pair of strong arms.
With a cold, steely look on his face, Sebastian dodged to the side, shielding Stella protectively in his embrace.
Before she even realized it, Stella’s arms had wrapped around his neck.
All eyes were on the two of them. In that moment, Sebastian was like a dark knight, there only to shield his princess from harm.

Stella blinked, staring right into those stormy gray eyes just inches away.
The two of them locked eyes.
Sebastian’s quick move meant Stella’s shoes just got a splash, nothing more.
Stella was the first to break the silence. She said, “Put me down.”

Sebastian shot a glance at the water on Stella’s shoes, frowned, and set her down on a chair. He pulled out a tissue, took hold of her ankle, and wiped the water off her shoes with precise care.
After that, he looked up at her and said, “All done.”
Stella was stunned.
Sebastian turned to Lauren, those eyes swirling like a vortex, like he could pull one under at any second. The cold, ruthless vibe behind his glasses was barely held back, ready to snap loose any moment.
In the blink of an eye, Giana arrived with her lawyer in tow.
As soon as Giana laid eyes on Stella, her face went pale with shock and fear.
“Just a powerless clown throwing a fit,” Stella said, her hand landing lightly on Sebastian’s shoulder as she got to her feet. She added, “Now that the Lane family’s here, how about we have a real conversation?”
“Conversation? About what? I have nothing to say to you!” Giana snapped coldly.
Stella gave a careless smile and said, “How about we discuss how David accidentally walked in on my dad making a deal with a hooker?”
“What are you even saying? That was Lauren,” Giana shot back, her voice full of disbelief.
Meanwhile, Lauren was already cuffed and dragged off to the side by the cops.
After Broderick talked the officers into it, Brantley was brought out as well. The moment he stepped outside and saw the total mess, his expression froze in shock.
Lauren was completely pinned down, couldn’t even move, just howled at the top of her lungs, “Stella! You did this to me! You ruined everything!”
Sophia shouted, “Messing with my son Richard wasn’t enough for you, huh? Now you want to-”
