Stella shot back, “You didn’t stop him either, did you?” Her eyes, usually wild, now cold and sharp, called out Camilla’s hypocrisy. She added, “You had plenty of chances tonight to step in, but you didn’t.”
Camilla was left speechless.
Stella suddenly closed in, and Camilla quickly retreated two steps, bracing herself against the edge of the table.
“You resent him for being heartless, hate him for his lack of loyalty, and want him to pay, but you keep hesitating,” Stella said, reaching out to fix Camilla’s rumpled collar, a mocking glint in her eyes.
She added, “Bet seeing him break down gives you a twisted sense of satisfaction, huh?”
Camilla’s eyes widened in shock; not just from fear, but from the embarrassment of having her deepest secrets exposed by Stella.
Behind Stella, chaos was erupting, but with her back to the madness, she flashed Camilla a cold, mocking smile.
She said, “Well then, cheers to our partnership, my dear ‘mother”.”
Camilla’s heart nearly stopped at the word “mother” from Stella. She was scared out of her wits, guilt gnawing at her. After all, nobody knew better than her that Stella wasn’t even their real daughter.
For Camilla, that word was nothing short of a death sentence.
She thought of that phrase again: making a deal with the devil.
“We don’t have enough evidence to nail them for prostitution or solicitation, so I’m afraid…” Broderick said. The implication was obvious: once the investigation wrapped up, they would probably have to let Lauren and Brantley go.
Sebastian replied, “No.”
His voice was cold and menacing, and when he shot Broderick a look, Broderick felt a chill run down his neck.
Sebastian added, “Even if we can’t get them on the old charges, they’re not going anywhere for the next few days.”
Broderick followed Sebastian’s gaze.
Sebastian let out a cold laugh.
Ever since Stella walked in, she’d been messing with Lauren and Brantley nonstop, pushing their buttons until they finally snapped.
That was when people lost all control.

Broderick suddenly got it.

Even if the old charges didn’t stick, there was no way Lauren and Brantley were getting out of the charge of assaulting an officer.
From the moment Stella stepped into the room, she’d already decided Lauren and Brantley weren’t leaving. She crushed them psychologically first, and now, everyone here was completely at her mercy.
Broderick was mentally giving Stella a thumbs-up, totally impressed.
But he was starting to sweat it, thinking about what he had to ask Stella next. He kept glancing at his watch, stalling for time, wondering how he was even supposed to bring it up.
Turns out, Lauren and Brantley got slapped with a fifteen-day detention for interfering with the police.
“Mom! I don’t want this! Mom, save me!!” Lauren screamed, bawling her eyes out, snot and tears everywhere as she was dragged off.
Sophia’s eyes were brimming with tears, but she turned away, refusing to meet Lauren’s gaze, letting her cries fade further and further away.
Once everything was wrapped up, the group left the police station.
The door swung open, and a gust of wind hit them, carrying the damp scent of the night.
Broderick went to get the car.
As soon as they stepped outside, Sophia finally snapped. She barked, “Stella!” Then she lunged at Stella.
But before she could even get close, Sebastian caught her hand and, with a blank expression, calmly pushed her back.
Stella let out a soft laugh. She said, “Seems you’ve managed to get my bodyguard all riled up.” She didn’t even bother to look at Sophia.
Instead, she reached out and gave Sebastian’s tense arm a gentle pat.
She was telling him to relax.
“You’ll pay for this! You’ll get what’s coming to you!” Sophia snarled, spitting out each word through clenched teeth.
Stella heard her and strolled over, crouching down so she was eye-level with Sophia, who was sprawled on the ground. “You really believe in karma?” Stella asked, her pretty face twisted into a mocking grin.
She added, “If you do, then good for you!”
A sudden night breeze whipped through, sending Stella’s long hair flying, strands swirling and scattering like
shadows in the dark.
“Mrs. Chapman, then I hope everything you wish for slips away, and everything you care about ends up lost,”

Stella said slowly, her words sharp and deliberate, making sure Sophia caught every syllable.
Linda supported Sophia, while the Gray family’s lawyer watched silently from the side.

Giana, just finishing up David’s paperwork, stepped out a moment later, just in time to hear Stella’s chilling
curse.
Everyone watched as Stella rose with a lazy grace, her back to the pitch-black night, a smirk playing on her lips as she lifted her hand.
She lazily raised three fingers, then folded them down one by one: three, two, one.
Right on cue, a thunderclap split the sky, as if the heavens were echoing her curse.
Professor Cipher had taught Stella this sky-watching trick. If she nailed the timing, she could always spook people with it, ever since she was a kid.
Everyone stared in shock at the scene before them.
Sophia was trembling, her mind flashing back to Richard losing it and smashing into the wall at the hospital. “You… you witch! You’re a witch!” she stammered, her voice shaking.
Stella lowered her hand, her eyes dangerous and mesmerizing as she looked at Sophia. She said, “Consider this your payback.”
Stella sneered inwardly, ‘Back then, Sophia picked the perfect moment-barely a week after Sebastian’s family died, while the grief was still raw and he was clinging to life in the hospital-to crawl back and fight over the inheritance.
‘And now she wants to lecture me about karma?
‘What a joke!’
After that, Stella reached out her hand to Sebastian, inviting him.
The moment she did, everyone instinctively took a few steps back, as if afraid her “blessing” might hit them. But Sebastian stood his ground, unmoved.
His gaze was fixed on her outstretched palm.
His eyes were dark and intense,
Sebastian relished this moment.
Without a moment’s hesitation, he extended his hand and let it rest in hers, holding her hand as if she were the most precious thing in existence.
Staring at the same tall guy who’d just treated her like she was nothing, now holding Stella’s hand so gently, Linda couldn’t help blurting out, “Aren’t you worried Sebastian will see this?!”
Linda thought, ‘Is that bodyguard the one Sebastian hired for her?
