Stella thought, ‘Villains always talk themselves to death, but heroes aren’t immune either. That’s just how the universe works.
‘I’m so done. Just let it all end.’
Stella looked up and shot Declan and Chadwick a light, almost absent-minded glance.
If silence had a voice, all Stella could hear was “10 million, 10 million, 10 million” echoing endlessly in her mind.
She couldn’t help but let out a weary sigh.
“Fighting’s exhausting. How about we talk sense for once?” Stella drawled, lazily tapping her finger on Blackie’s
head.
Blackie got the hint, coiled away around her wrist, and vanished without a trace.
“Little girl, do you even know who I am?” Tony said, cigar hanging from his lips, his rugged face exuding authority without him even needing to raise his voice.
He obviously thought Stella was beneath him.
One of his men dragged over a chair, and Tony sat down like he owned the place, crossing his legs with a lazy
swagger.
Stella replied coolly, “Do you even know who I am?”
Her voice was steady, almost nonchalant.
Tony froze for a moment, eyes narrowing as he glanced first at Sebastian behind her. Just from the cut and fabric of Sebastian’s suit, it was obvious he wasn’t some nobody.
Tony thought, ‘Wait, is she actually someone I shouldn’t cross?’
His tone softened a bit as he asked, “And you are?”
Stella lifted her eyelids, her face expressionless. She replied, “I’m your daddy.”
A chorus of gasps rippled through the crowd.
Tony’s grip tightened, snapping the cigar in his fist. He thought, ‘Is this girl for real? Is she playing me?’
Tony barked, “You’ve got some nerve!” He actually laughed in disbelief, anger simmering beneath the surface. His glare was icy and furious. In Haliville, nobody ever dared disrespect him. This was a first.
Stella gave a careless shrug and said, “I’m leaving with these two.”
Her demeanor was cold.

Tony sneered, “Leave?” He tossed the snapped cigar to the ground and crushed it under his heel. He pointed at Chadwick and said, “His old man ran off with 300 thousand dollars of mine. And as for him…”
He glared at Declan and added, “He cracked my head open. I’m taking his hand as payback. Fair trade, right?”
Stella thought, ‘Seriously? Only 300 grand?’
She said, “Let’s be reasonable. His dad stole your money, so go after his dad. He hit you, so hit him back. But cutting off hands and feet? That’s just unnecessary.”
Tony’s eyes went ice-cold.
His men called in backup, and soon a mob stormed in from outside, machetes clanking and heavy footsteps thundering through the bar. In no time, they blocked the bar’s main entrance.
Chadwick was convinced this was the end for him.
Counting him, Declan, and the others, there were only four of them.
Chadwick looked at the endless crowd armed with machetes, steel pipes, and wooden clubs. There were so many, he lost count. He wanted to cry, but the tears just wouldn’t come.
“Little girl, let me teach you a lesson about respect!” Tony sneered.
He lifted his right hand, signaling his men.
His goons started closing in.
“Mr. Parker! If you want my hand, take it. Just don’t drag anyone else into this!” Declan burst out, his chest rising and falling with agitation.
Tony didn’t even glance at him, his gaze fixed coldly on Stella. He said, “Too late!”
He was hell-bent on teaching Stella a lesson she’d never forget.
Stella shrugged and said, “Guess we’re done talking.”
She stayed cool and unhurried, her long lashes throwing shadows on her pale face. She added, “Too bad.”
Stella shot Tony a slow, wicked little smile, a glint of red flickering at the corners of her eyes.
She raised her hand and snapped her fingers.
Tony smirked at Stella, reaching for another cigar from the box his man held out. But before he could grab it, his man’s eyes went wide with terror and stammered, “M-Mr. Parker, don’t move! Whatever you do, don’t move!”
Before Tony could react, a cold, chilling sensation slithered down his neck.
He turned his head and locked eyes with Blackie.

Blackie wrapped itself around his neck, its upper body rearing up menacingly.
As if the scene wasn’t dramatic enough, it opened its mouth, baring its tiny, icy fangs.
Tony shouted, “Don’t move! Any of you!”
He drew in a sharp breath.
The situation took a nosedive in an instant.

The reinforcements who were about to rush Stella and Sebastian froze in place, not daring to move a muscle. Every single pair of eyes was glued to Blackie coiled around Tony’s neck.
Declan thought, ‘Wait, I wasn’t just seeing things before. That black snake’s actually alive?’
Tony was rooted to the spot, his eyes wide and trembling with pure terror.
Snakes were his absolute nightmare.
Stella stood in the half-lit bar, wearing a simple white shirt. She tilted her head, her gaze drifting lazily over to Tony. Those deep amber eyes held a chill that could cut to the bone, but her smile was drop-dead gorgeous.
She sauntered toward Tony, slow and unhurried.
Sebastian stayed put, hands behind his back, his slate-gray eyes locked onto Tony with a cold, unblinking
stare.
Stella sneered, “Mr. Parker, huh?” She walked right up to him, calm as ever.
