“I’m taking them,” Stella said, lifting her gaze coldly as her fingers flicked the bullets out of the magazine one by one.

The bullets hit the ground with a terrifying clatter.

It wasn’t a negotiation; it was a notice.

With a single glance from Sebastian, someone stepped forward and hauled Declan and Chadwick to their feet.

Declan and Chadwick were stunned.

They thought, ‘She nailed that one-handed magazine drop!’

“O-Okay!” Tony stammered, looking utterly terrified. Gone was the swagger he’d shown earlier.

He looked even more pathetic than a stray dog.

Stella shot Tony a subtle, almost mocking look. “See? If you’d just played nice from the beginning, things would’ve been a lot easier.”

Everyone nearly jumped out of their skin.

Stella dipped her head and snapped her fingers. Instantly, Blackie, which had been baring its tiny fangs at Tony, went silent, slipped off his neck in a flash, and called it a day.

Blackie curled itself back around Stella’s wrist.

It let out a contented sigh.

As the group was heading out and Tony was just about to breathe a sigh of relief, Sebastian, already at the door, suddenly stopped in his tracks. Instantly, Tony’s heart leapt into his throat.

‘Wait, why did he stop?’ Tony thought, panic spiking.

Sebastian turned his head, his face unreadable, not saying a word.

He glanced down at Stella, like he was waiting for her to remember something.

Stella didn’t reply to him.

The two of them locked eyes.

They walked out of the bar.

He turned and saw Stella, face cold as ice, striding over like she owned the place. She grabbed him right up to a jet-black van. Just as the door started to open from the inside, she lifted her foot and slammed it shut with a

The car window rolled down, and there was Broderick, hands tucked under his chin, giving Stella his best groveling puppy-dog look. “Stella, I know I was wrong!”

Declan’s face twitched when he saw Broderick.

Stella let out a cold laugh.

Broderick looked like a kicked puppy.

“Here’s your 10 million,” Stella said, tossing Declan over to Broderick and turning to leave without another word.

Declan called out, “Wait.”

Stella didn’t even acknowledge him. She headed straight for the black Maybach parked nearby, opened the door, and got in.

Declan watched her leave, his head dropping.

Broderick stepped out of the car. “Mr. Knight…”

In the car, Sebastian’s phone dinged. A notification popped up, and 5 million was already credited to his

account.

Sebastian was speechless.

Sebastian turned to look at Stella, who was busy playing with Blackie. “Stella…”

Stella looked up. “What’s up?”

She glanced at Sebastian’s phone screen. “Is that not enough?”

On Sandridge Island, Lucas was puffing out his cheeks in his beloved cartoon shark pajamas. Next to him, Snowball had the plain plant sitting on its head, and its huge snowy head kept bobbing up and down like a drowsy chick.

The plain plant gave him a wake-up slap.

Snowball looked like it was about to burst into tears.

On the right, Big Ben was hugging the Obsidian Orchid, while Eggie was grinning as it stole nibbles from the flowerpot.

It was pure heaven and hell, all in one scene.

As soon as the call connected, Lucas puffed up his cheeks, all worked up. “Grr! Grr!”

Lucas poked Big Ben.

Stella and Sebastian were speechless.

Lucas instantly turned into an adorable kid, and the whole room seemed to fill with rainbow-hued bubbles of pure joy.

He thought, ‘She called me sweetheart!’

Lucas sat back down, puffed up his cheeks, and replied solemnly, “Um!”

Stella said, “We’ll be home really soon, promise! Don’t be mad, okay?”

Lucas nodded hard, puffing out his cheeks. “Um!”

‘Alright!’ Lucas thought, feeling a little less grumpy.

The call ended.

Snowball, Big Ben, Eggie, and the plain plant all turned to stare at Lucas, who sat there with his arms crossed, looking super serious. Everyone just stared in silence.

Three seconds later, Lucas grabbed his own soft, squishy cheeks and started grinning like an idiot.
