Stella looked in the direction Lucas was pointing. Sebastian didn’t even get out of the car. He just took the elevator from the garage straight up to his room to wipe off his makeup.

“Shh,” Stella said, putting a finger to her lips.

Lucas instantly covered his mouth with both hands, blinking up at her.

He nodded like crazy.

In the villa, Lucas sat obediently on the floor, putting together a puzzle while he waited for Stella to finish showering.

Meanwhile, Snowball was smacking the floor with the tip of its tail, acting all tough and intimidating.

“Huh?” Lucas tilted his head. At that exact moment, Blackie retracted its fangs, flopped down on the floor, and, putting on a whole dramatic act.

It grabbed Snowball’s big white tail and threw it over itself like it was starring in a soap opera.

Its tongue was still hanging out for extra effect.

Snowball was stunned.

It wondered, ‘Is it playing the victim now?

‘Did that snake just fake it to mess with me?’

“Huh!” Lucas scampered over, scooped up the tip of Snowball’s tail, and tugged Blackie out from under it.

Snowball got even more pissed off.

Its tail was thumping the floor like a drum, faster and faster.

“That’s it! It’s war!’ Snowball fumed.

The bathroom door swung open. Stella strolled out, drying her hair with one hand, smelling fresh and clean from her sandalwood-scented body wash. Her phone kept buzzing with notifications.

Stella said, “Blackie, quit picking on Snowball.”

She reached out and ruffled Snowball’s head. Poor thing, it looked so pitiful.

Snowball almost wanted to cry.

Stella picked up her phone, and when the screen lit up, she couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
