“Oh, except for you guys,” Stella said coldly.

The leader’s eyes widened. “Why?”

Blake popped out from behind Stella again, pulling out the thick stack of resignation letters they’d tried to use to threaten and humiliate him earlier. He spread them out like a fan for everyone to see.

He couldn’t help but show off.

Stella said calmly, “Since you all handed in your resignations yourselves, lon Wing Drones has already signed off on them.”

Everyone was left speechless.

Seeing the idiots across from him standing there dumbfounded, jaws practically on the floor, Blake felt like he’ d just downed an ice-cold Coke on the hottest day ever, pure bliss.

He thought, ‘I knew it!

‘Whenever Stella takes charge, no matter how dire things get, they always manage to pull off a comeback!’

Sebastian, sitting in his wheelchair, suddenly raised his hand, his strikingly handsome but sickly face turning icy cold.

Everyone behind him snapped to attention, ready for anything.

“Snatch those resignation letters back!” someone in the crowd yelled, and all at once, hundreds of people surged toward Stella and Blake like a tidal wave.

Blake was stunned.

Not hesitating for a second, he moved.

He took a huge, exaggerated step forward, threw his arms out to shield Stella behind him, and shut his eyes tight. “Stella, get out of here!”

Stella was speechless.

Blake had been all set for disaster, tensing up for the pain, except it never came. Instead, someone gave his shoulder a light tap, and he heard Stella’s breezy voice right next to him. “Move aside.”

He opened his eyes and saw a squad of men in black, blocking the surging mob of hundreds.

Blake was totally stunned.

Stella’s eyes were cold as she watched the crowd crying and scrambling, making a spectacle of themselves. There wasn’t a hint of sympathy or pity in her gaze.

They were begging for mercy, not because they thought they’d done anything wrong, but just because they lost.

To Stella, their pain meant absolutely nothing.

She looked up and locked eyes with Xander, who was standing on the second floor. “Ion Wing Drones isn’t a place for you to run wild.

“Instead of wailing here, why don’t you go find the one who egged you on and make them take responsibility?”

Xander was speechless.

His fists clenched at his sides before he even realized it.

He thought, ‘I knew it!

‘She’s using me as a prop to help Blake assert his authority!’

“Mr. Xander Pierce! You can’t just leave us hanging!” As soon as Stella finished speaking, the whole crowd started bawling and begging, all eyes locked on Xander up on the second floor.

Xander was speechless.

The way everyone was staring at him made a vein on his forehead twitch.

“Let’s go!” Xander snapped.

Face dark as thunder, he slapped on his sunglasses, grabbed his mom, and headed straight for the elevator.

The lobby was already cleared out.

A few more people trickled in to hand in their resignations, and HR and Finance Department didn’t bother trying to stop them.

Per Stella’s orders, everyone except the initial group who first handed in their resignations got triple the usual payout for leaving on their own.

Some time later. “Ms. Carter, Mr. Pierce,” the finance and HR directors came over.

Stella herself had no clue that Kendrick had once called a secret meeting with his inner circle just for this.

They were told to follow every single order from Stella, no questions asked.

And if Blake ever gave a command that went against Stella’s, Stella’s word was law. She always took priority.

In other words, Blake might be the official CEO of lon Wing Drones, but the one truly calling the shots from the shadows was Stella.

“Here’s the list of all the people who resigned.” The HR director handed Stella the full list of resignations, bowing respectfully as he did.

Stella glanced up at him with an unreadable look. “Blake is your real CEO.”

Her meaning couldn’t be clearer.

The HR director hurriedly handed the list to Blake, worried he might get upset. But to his surprise, Blake beamed.

He said, “Stella, you check it first! If you say it’s fine, then it’s definitely fine!”

He looked so happy, like a goofy little kid.

Stella was speechless.

She thought, ‘I’m not here to raise a son!’

Stella said, “Since you all chose to stick it out, lon Wing Drones isn’t about to shortchange anyone who had our backs when things got rough.

“The $80 million in cash behind me is going to be split up as bonuses for everyone who stayed.”

As soon as she finished, the whole place went wild with shock.

“Do the cleaners get a cut, too?” someone suddenly shouted from the second floor.

Stella looked up, a faint smile on her gorgeous face. “As long as you stick around, whether you’re a cleaner or a security guard, everyone gets a piece of the pie.”

The crowd went wild.

They were scoring tens of thousands out of nowhere. No one wouldn’t be happy.

Blake looked up, swept up by the energy in the room. For the first time, lon Wing Drones wasn’t just a name to him. It was his to lead, his to protect.

Stella continued, “But-”

The cheers cut off in an instant, and everyone snapped their heads toward Stella.

Stella said, “You can grab the cash right now, or swap it for a slice of the year-end company bonus. No pressure. Just tell your supervisor what you want.”

To Blake’s surprise, most people chose to go with the year-end bonus instead of taking the cash.

The reason was simple. They wanted to ride out the ups and downs with lon Wing Drones.

Sebastian raised his voice, “And one more thing.”
