“Didn’t your mom ever teach you it’s rude to interrupt someone while they’re eating?” Stella drawled.

She spoke deliberately slowly, the already tense atmosphere thickening further. Her cold eyes rested evenly on Wendy’s face.

A shiver ran down Wendy’s spine.

Stella picked up her bowl and, without a word, poured it right onto Wendy’s plate for everyone to see.

The two of them locked eyes, and Stella smirked, her expression lazy and mocking.

“What the “Wendy’s friend started, but Stella moved quickly.

Stella kicked the table. It hit them in the stomach, and they hunched over, clutching their belly.

Chantel and Jenna fell silent. They thought, ‘Those tables are fixed to the floor. How did she even kick it?’

“Stella, you-” Hazel was dumbfounded, as if the events at Greenleaf Club were replaying before her eyes.

Stella lifted her gaze to Hazel, and when she caught sight of those tears barely hanging on, she let out a sarcastic chuckle.

She planted herself right in front of Hazel, gripping her chin between her fingers, and said, “You haven’t told her about everything that’s been happening lately, right?”

Stella gave a mocking laugh.

Hazel was frozen in fear, shaking all over.

Stella just smiled and said, “Shh.”

She suddenly grabbed Wendy’s hair and slammed her into the tray.

“I’m not your sister.” Stella’s beautiful eyes were filled with lethal intent.

Wendy’s friends tried to help, but Stella took them out one by one with a kick, never even glancing away from Hazel.

Stella said, “It’s always like this. You just cry in the back, let someone else fight for you, and walk away unharmed.”

Hazel stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, “I didn’t.”

As she spoke, tears trickled down her cheeks, heart-wrenching and helpless, stirring unease in everyone who

saw.

Stella just tilted her head, sneering.

“Do you know what I call people like you?” Without missing a beat, Stella snatched up the ice-cold Coke and poured it straight over Hazel’s head. “Trash.”

Hazel dropped to a crouch, covering her face.

Stella set the empty bottle down, her eyes glinting with defiance, every inch of her radiating that rebellious

energy.

Someone handed her a tissue, and she paused for a moment.

Declan didn’t even look her way, just kept his hand out with the tissue.

“Thanks,” Stella said, taking it and slowly wiping her hands before sauntering toward the door.

Chadwick stammered, “D-Declan, Stella was so-”

He was about to blurt out how cool that was, but then he glanced over and saw Declan slide his tray forward.

Declan said, “Let’s go.”

Chadwick just stared, totally lost. He thought, ‘Wait, doesn’t Declan hate the cafeteria food?’

Stella took a shower in the boardroom and collapsed onto the bed in the lounge. She closed her eyes, then opened them again, but couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.

She let out a sigh and glanced over at the closet.

After a while, Stella grabbed one of Sebastian’s white shirts from the closet, and only when she caught that familiar woody scent did she finally relax.

She flopped back onto the bed.

Her phone by the bed started ringing.

Irritated, Stella unlocked her phone expressionlessly.

Cedar: [Here are the top five professional analysis papers you asked for.]

Five files popped up on her screen.

Shark: [Got it.]

She got up, walked into the outer room, and opened the files on the big-screen computer.

However, the moment Stella opened Emily’s file, her face went dark.

By the time she had all five files open at once, her expression was downright stormy.

Stella didn’t hesitate; she called him up right away.

When Cedar saw her name light up his screen, he got so hyped, grabbing his phone as if his life depended on

“Hi, I’m-“A deep middle-aged male voice came through the phone.

Stella asked, “Are you sure these are the right papers?”

Cedar went stunned. He thought, ‘Well, she sounds so young.’

Stella snapped, “Did you hear me?”

Cedar blurted out, “Yes. These five files just came in from the Clusia Division just now.”

Stella sneered, thinking, ‘Things just got interesting. Why the hell is the analysis paper I fixed for Emily now showing Chloe’s name on it?’

Stella fired off a hospital address.

Cedar asked, “What’s this?”

Stella snapped, “Tell those bastards from the Clusia Division to head to this hospital immediately, no matter where they are.”

Cedar could sense the fury in her voice even over the phone. He knew that something was clearly wrong.

Cedar’s tone became especially grave. “I’ll let them know right away.”

Stella said, “Wait.”

She started drumming her fingers on the desk.

Cedar replied, “What else?”

Stella said, “Don’t tell them who I am.”

Cedar let out a big sigh of relief. “No worries. The Five High Elders specifically instructed that no one may be told who you were. Only guys in The Big Shot’s Sidekicks know that.”

Stella gave a sarcastic chuckle. She thought, ‘Guess those five old freaks still did something right.”

Stella said, “Alright, go spread the word.”

With that, she hung up.

Stella looked at the two analysis papers in front of her, one with Emily’s name, the other with Chloe’s. The one now bearing Emily’s name was riddled with errors, almost as if someone was trying to set her up.

If she hadn’t already read Emily’s original, she wouldn’t have even bothered with it. She would have thrown it away and blacklisted the author.

Stella’s eyes stayed cold as she stared at Chloe’s photo on the screen, then fired off a message to Jake.
