Chapter 218
It was a check for 8 million.
Emily frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Even if she was from one of Haliville’s top three families, she still couldn’t hold a candle to the old money in Jaffina.
Chloe said, “Go ahead and take it. You deserve it.”
Her delicate features were laced with sarcasm, her malice plain for all to see.
Emily was left speechless.
Suddenly, realization dawned on her. She bumped Chloe aside and darted for her laptop, but Bastienne just smiled, then casually tipped her glass of water over the keyboard.
The screen flickered a few times and then went black.
Emily trembled with anger.
Bastienne didn’t even flinch. She pulled out a fat wad of cash from her purse. “Take it. Consider this extra compensation.”
“I’m getting into the Dorestan Medical Alliance, no matter who stands in my way.” Chloe shot Emily a sidelong glance. “Even if your mentor is Samuel, he won’t be able to help you.”
Emily asked, “Did you mess with my paper?”
She finally put the pieces together. She thought, ‘First, the cash, then the destroyed laptop. My thesis was definitely in trouble. That money was hush money!’
Chloe smirked, “Smart girl.”
She lifted her chin, her eyes calm, betraying not a hint of fluster. “Your paper is well-written.”
Emily’s face flushed. She felt that Chloe’s recognition was even more nauseating than a slap.
Emily took a deep breath, trying to keep her cool. “I’m going to report you to the Clusia Division of Dorestan Medical Alliance.”
Chloe let out a mocking laugh. “Who do you think helped me swap it?”
Bastienne snapped, “Chloe, don’t.”
Chloe made a playful face at her slip of the tongue, but couldn’t resist showing off to Emily. “This is power.”
Emily was shaking with rage.

Chapter 218
Suddenly, there was a polite knock at the door.
:
The bodyguard inside said, “Dr. Chase is busy. Please come back later.”
His voice was loud, but the knocking persisted.
The bodyguard snapped, “I said come back later. Can’t you-”
Before he could finish, there was a deafening crash, and the door collapsed.
Dust billowed, and a slender figure appeared.
Emily stared at the figure and felt relieved.
It was Stella.

The dust settled. Stella glanced up, her eyes sweeping over Emily in her white coat. “Are you hurt?”
Emily’s eyes rimmed with tears, but she shook her head.
Garrett suddenly widened his eyes, clearly recognizing Stella. Meanwhile, the guard at the door tried to grab Stella from behind.
Stella remained expressionless, spinning her hand around to grip the burly man’s neck, her fingers digging in, and slamming him into the wall.
She turned to Garrett and said, “Nice to see you again.”
The young bodyguard’s neck bent, and he fainted instantly.
Garrett stayed quiet, feeling the scene was eerily familiar.
Watching Stella calmly press the wall-mounted hand sanitizer like nothing had happened, Garrett bent down and spoke quietly to Bastienne. “That’s the one who took the Pagani Zonda.”
Bastienne thought ‘What? She’s so young.’
Chloe blurted out, “Wait, she’s the one who snatched the Pagani Zonda my brother’s been obsessed with, right?”
Chloe shot Stella a look that could kill.
Stella ignored her, casually pulling a chair and dragging it across the floor.
She dropped the chair right in front of Bastienne, her move reckless and cocky. Then she sat down, leaning all the way back like she owned the place.
Stella stared straight at Bastienne, her eyes cold and sharp.
“The Dorestan Medical Alliance doesn’t take a loser like you,” Stella said, her tone full of mockery.

Emily, wearing her white coat, glanced at the formerly arrogant group now looking deflated. “That’s right,” she said.
The Dorestan Medical Alliance Headquarters was a sacred place in every medical student’s heart, and no one could ever taint it.
Colsen Farley, the director of the hospital, who had already received the call, was sweating profusely. He and a few others waited anxiously downstairs; his nearly bald head glistened under the light.
He thought, ‘Why would the big shots from the Clusia Division of Dorestan Medical Alliance be calling me? And they said they’re on their way here.
‘Something huge must have happened. Why else would the head of the Clusia Division show up?’
The department head shouted, “Mr. Farley, they’re here. I see their cars.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a fleet of Mercedes-Benz cars roared into the hospital, each one moving in perfect sync.
The screech of brakes filled the air.
The car doors swung open, and Colsen was shocked.
One after another, the big shots from the Clusia Division, who were usually only seen at prestigious medical forums, arrived. No matter the age, they looked nervous, afraid of slowing down.
“Hello, I’m-” Colsen started, stepping forward and reaching out to shake hands.
However, the group strode past him without so much as a glance, leaving his hand awkwardly suspended in midair.
Chloe’s voice was sharp with anger. “How dare you talk to us like that? Do you even know who we are? We are
Stella cut her off, her face expressionless. “The Everhart family from Jaflina.”
Chloe fell silent.
Stella said, “What’s so worth bragging about in a family that can’t even reach Jatlina’s top
Bastienne and Chloe both felt awkward.
And Garrett was stunned for a moment.

After a pause, Bastienne said, “Kid, throwing punches and talking big won’t change anything. That just makes
