Jake stood outside the door, beaming and waving cheerfully. “Morning, Ms. Carter.”

Stella, shrouded in a heavy, dark aura, gave him a stormy look. “You’d better have something important to say.”

Jake’s face stayed utterly blank.

With a twist, Stella broke the doorknob right off.

Jake was speechless.

His grin stiffened awkwardly.

He snapped to attention and did a perfect bow. “There’s someone downstairs asking for you.”

The door slammed shut right in his face.

Jake’s shoulders instantly drooped. He just knew John had set him up by sending him to call Stella.

But before he could finish his inner rant, the door swung open again from the inside.

Jake said, “Your orders, Ms. Carter.”

He snapped to attention like a spring.

With a blank face, Stella placed the broken doorknob into Jake’s hand and slammed the door shut again.

He just stared at the doorknob in his hand, speechless.

In Sebastian’s bedroom, beside it, the plain plant looked even more pitiful in comparison.

He looked absolutely pissed off.

With a whoosh, the plain plant snapped its leaf back before it could even graze the rose.

She’d barely made it downstairs, and the second she saw that mess, she turned right back up without a word.

The old men all whipped their heads toward Stella, and their eyes instantly sparkled at the sight of her.

“Huh?” Lucas peeked out from behind Stella’s leg, rubbing his eyes, still in his adorable little shark pajamas.

The old men’s eyes practically lit up as they all instantly cleared a spot for her right in the middle.

‘I’m so done. Just let the world end already, Stella thought.

Five minutes later, Stella was sitting in the middle of the old men, holding Lucas, looking totally spaced out. All the voices around her just blurred into a chorus.

Victor looked dead serious. “I’m telling you, this painting is a total fake.”

Levi snapped back, “Nonsense. Who puts a chocolate box on an authentic piece? I’m telling you, this one’s the

real deal.”

Landen jumped in, “Dr. Miracle, hurry and try this. It’s my newest remedy. It’ll make you beautiful and keep you young.”

Hudson hesitated, looking flustered.

Allan came downstairs, yawning, and walked right into this mess.

Allan couldn’t help but crack up. “Stella, if you need rescuing, just blink twice.”

“What are you doing here?” Stella asked, as Allan raised his hands in mock surrender to her, then turned to Nathan.

Nathan said, “I’m here to do a tooth extraction for Mr. Gray.”

Everyone stood there, dumbstruck.

Landen stared, dumbfounded. “Wait, you’re here to help Mr. Gray?”

Nathan grinned. “To pull his tooth.”

John muttered, “Wait, I booked Dr. Trent, didn’t I?”

Nathan pointed at himself. “It’s me.”

As he spoke, he clipped a name tag reading “Dr. Trent” to his chest.

Nathan tapped the name tag, grinning. “This is just my side hustle.”

Everyone stood there, dumbstruck.

At that moment, John was stone-faced and cool as ice.

John thought, ‘Forget Dr. Trent, Mr. Gray’s totally going to silence me for this.

Stella arched an eyebrow. “Wait, you’re actually a certified dentist?”

Nathan’s face went dead serious. He whipped out a fat folder of certificates from his pocket and, with a dramatic swish, opened it up for everyone to see.

Everyone stood there, dumbstruck.

There were certificates for every kind of medical qualification you could imagine, even a few so bizarre that everyone had to do a double-take.

Stella asked, “Master chef??”

Nathan grinned. “Oh, that? Just grabbed it while I was getting my nutritionist license. No big deal.”

Stella asked, “Wait, you even have a certificate for crossing the equator?”
