Chapter 294 Stella Is Making Waves Again!

Two hours later. The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Suddenly, a scream erupted from Class 3.

Stella was jolted awake. For a split second, a flash of irritation flickered in her eyes, but it vanished quickly, replaced by her usual laid-back indifference.

“Dexter’s in Haliville!” someone screamed.

“Didn’t he just finish his national tour and head back to Jaffina? Is this for real?” one of the girls blurted out.

“Yes, it’s for real! Someone caught him and his agent, Jack, on camera at Haliville Airport!” another girl squealed.

“It’s already trending online!” someone else shouted.

The girls in the class went wild.

Everyone was buzzing with excitement.

Stella propped her chin on one hand, twirling her pen with the other as she glanced over at the source of the

noise.

‘Dexter? Who is it?’ she thought, a bit confused.

Suddenly, a sheet of paper slid across the desk to her. Stella raised an eyebrow and turned her head. Declan was staring at her, dead serious.

Stella looked down at it. It was an IOU.

Declan’s jaw was set. “I’ll pay you back for the medical bills.”

His brows were furrowed, defiance burning in his eyes.

Stella looked at the IOU, finding it kind of amusing. After a moment, she said, “Okay, got it.” She stuffed it into her bag like it was no big deal.

It was obvious that a few hundred grand meant nothing to her.

Stella said, “You do realize what happened at the bar last time wasn’t just some accident, right?”

She didn’t bother to look at him, speaking slowly and lazily. Declan shot her a sharp look, but before he could say a word, Stella’s phone chimed.

She gave her phone a quick look.

Was it a friend request on WhatsApp from Emerson? Seriously?

The note was simple: [Ms. Carter, if you ever need anything, feel free to contact me.]

Stella was speechless. She honestly had no idea why she’d ever need to reach out to him.

Spinning her pen between her fingers, Stella listened as the girls’ chatter grew louder. Getting a bit annoyed, she pretended not to see the message and shoved her phone back into her pocket.

Declan asked, “How much do you know about me?”

Stella glanced up at him. “No idea.” Her tone was so perfunctory that anyone could tell she was brushing him off.

Declan said, “You’re just trying to avoid trouble, aren’t you?”

He saw right through her.

Stella leaned back in her chair, totally chill, not even bothering to answer.

Chadwick rushed in through the back door, panting and clutching a bunch of drinks. He started handing them out to the classmates who’d gone to look for him at Technical High School, until all that was left was a single ice-cold Coke.

“S-Stella,” he said nervously.

He set the Coke down beside her with extra care.

Stella drawled. “Mmm. Who are they talking about?”

Chadwick, who’d just come back, looked totally confused.

‘Is she really from Mars or something?’ Declan thought to himself.

Declan said, “He’s Hyde, the lead singer of The Mars.”

Stella blinked, confused.

Declan sighed and explained, “His real name’s Dexter Clinton. The Mars is the most popular band in the country these days.”

‘Whatever,’ she thought, barely interested.

She felt bored.

With a smooth, one-handed move, she cracked open the Coke and took a sip.

Not far away, Chantel’s sidekick couldn’t help but stir the pot.

“Chantel, she’s so shameless,” the sidekick said, watching Declan and Stella chatting like they were best friends.

Chantel leaned against the wall, shooting them a frosty glare.

Her face was anything but friendly.

All of a sudden, excited and almost frantic shrieks started coming from downstairs, way more intense than usual. Each round was louder than the last. Students started poking their heads out, trying to see what the heck was going on.

“What’s going on?” someone yelled.

“Did something happen?” another voice called out.

“Is someone famous here or something? Damn, even all the security guards are out!” someone else shouted.

The whole school was in an uproar, and the screams echoed up from the first floor to the second, finally reaching Stella’s floor.

“Is it just me, or does it sound like all that noise is heading straight for our class?” someone blurted out.

Everyone else seemed to be thinking the same thing.

Everyone had that confused look on their face.

And soon enough, the answer was revealed.

The entire security team from Edenbury Academy swarmed the entrance to Class 3, locking it down and keeping the crazed students outside. When Dexter showed up in a black leather jacket and sunglasses, every girl who’d been gossiping just seconds before instantly clammed up.

They looked like they couldn’t believe what they were seeing, holding their breath as they stared at the guy they’d only ever seen on a screen.

His signature shoulder-length hair cascaded around his shoulders, and his face was chiseled.

No freaking way! That was Dexter! It really was Dexter!

Before anyone’s brain could catch up, the whole class exploded. Screams were so wild that they nearly blew the roof off.

Jack was speechless. ‘This little devil is going to be the death of me!’

Who would’ve thought that when he said he was coming to Haliville, he’d just show up at the school just to look for someone?

And he actually climbed over the wall.

If the paparazzi got photos of this, they would be so screwed!
