Penelope felt embarrassed.

Blake’s laid–back response made her flex about the invitation look downright silly. She was grinding her teeth so hard that she could’ve cracked them, but still had to plaster on a “friendly” smile.
Kendrick glanced up at Blake. “Eat your breakfast.”
Watching the “loving grandpa and grandson” act in front of her, Penelope was fuming inside. “Blake, I heard all of Ion Wing Drones‘ drones have been pulled from the market, both online and offline. Is something wrong with the company?”
She put on a worried face. “If there really is a problem, you should talk to Xander-”
Blake, chewing on his toast, played dumb and said, “The company’s fine.”
Penelope asked, “Fine? Then why did you pull everything?”
Blake just shrugged. “Stella told me to.”
Penelope was so mad that she nearly choked. “Who did you say? Stella?”
She whipped her head around to Kendrick. “Are you really just going to let Blake do whatever he wants? Stella told him to pull the products, and he just did it? Do you even realize how much this is costing the company?”
Kendrick slammed his fork down on the table. “Done?” His gaze was like a knife, cutting right through Penelope. She shivered and didn’t dare say another word.
Kendrick continued, “Then take your invitation and get lost!” He radiated authority without even trying.
The air in the dining room was so heavy that the servants didn’t even dare to breathe.
After a while, Penelope snatched up the invitation. “Just wait for the launch event today. We’ll see who the real star is!”
Her face flushed with humiliation as she stormed out, her heels pounding furiously against the floor.
Blake, totally unfazed, poured a glass of milk for Kendrick and slid it over. “Come on, Grandpa, eat up. The best is yet to come for Ion Wing Drones!”
‘I’ve got someone watching my back! Blake thought to himself.
Kendrick thought, “That little brat!‘
At Sandridge Island, John was handing Stella the paternity test results he’d just picked up from Emily.
Everyone couldn’t help but stare at it.
Allan had gone all out for the event, rocking a burgundy shirt and a pair of glasses that made his good looks even more showy.
Right now, he was staring at the paper in Stella’s hand, eyes wide in disbelief. “Wait, what did you just say this is?”
He was starting to wonder if his ears were playing tricks on him
John said, “It’s a paternity test report.”
Allan was stunned. “Stella, you…”

Stella calmly tore open the envelope and gave the papers a quick look. Even though they had no idea what it said, she seemed in a pretty good mood, a knowing smirk playing at her ps.
For some reason, everyone suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.
“It’s not mine,” Stella replied, actually sounding patient for once as she glanced up at Allan.
Allan thought that answer and the sly look on Stella’s face made the whole vibe just get even more bizarre.
Jake, still sporting a bruised eye, patted his chest. “Man, that scared me!
“After watching too many soap operas, I totally thought Ms. Carter was about to find out she’s not really a Carter, but the long–lost daughter of some wealthy family, so she secretly did a paternity test.”
Everyone else was speechless.
Lucas, clutching his favorite shark spoon, his 5–year–old brain was running wild picturing it all, his mouth silently going “Wow!” again and again.
The next second, John gave Jake a good smack on the head and shapped, “Shut up.”
Jake protested, all aggrieved, “But that’s how it always happens in the dramas!”
Snowball’s big, white head popped up over the edge of the table staring at Stella with those tiny eyes brimming with curiosity, letting out a soft, curious hiss.
Stella gave a little laugh, idly stroking Snowball’s head as she said matter–of–factly, “Oh, I’m not really a Carter by blood.”
Lucas just froze, his bowl crashing onto the table in shock.
Allan asked, “How do you even know that?”
‘And how is she just sitting there like it’s no big deal?‘ Allan thought.
Stella casually pointed her slender finger right at Sebastian. “Sebastian checked me out from the start. He found it in the files.” Then she arched an eyebrow, looking as chill as ever.
Sebastian, caught in the act, was momentarily awkward.
Stella gave a little smile and turned to Allan. “Don’t tell me you didn’t read it.”
Allan looked super guilty, his eyes darting all over the place.
‘Didn’t read it… Allan thought, flustered. ‘Yeah, right! Like I could resist reading it!‘
Lucas hopped off his chair and dashed over to Stella, squeezing her tight in a big hug. His soft cheeks scrunched up with worry as he kept flashing little heart signs at her with his hands.
Annette got up, went to the kitchen, and brought back a bowl of ice cream for Stella. “Stella, aren’t you even a little curious about your real parents?”
Allan and Jake practically had their ears on full alert, dying to hear the answer.
Everyone watched as Stella propped her chin on one hand and pped the table with the other. “Nope, not curious at all.”
Everyone was disappointed to hear that.
Jake said, “But Ms. Carter, what if your real parents turn out to be like, crazy rich tycoons or something?”
