Declan glanced around, the electrifying madness in the air making his adrenaline pump. His gaze locked onto the stage, where, under the dazzling lights, Stella stood with her foot on Sval. She owned the moment, exuding the aura of a true
queen.
Declan’s heart was about to burst out of his chest.
Suddenly, Fabian turned his head with a cold look.
Declan frowned. “What’s up?”
Fabian crossed his arms and snorted. “Ms. Carter and Mr. Gray are the ultimate OTP!”
Declan cursed inwardly, ‘Damn it!’
Not far away, while everyone was caught up in the excitement, Suval’s manager, red-faced and furious, slunk over to the tiger cage.
Inside, the massive beast prowled restlessly, and as he drew near its eyes, cold and vicious, zeroed in on him.
Eat her! the manager snarled, his words laced with pure malice.
The deafening cheers from the crowd masked whatever was happening in the shadows, as the manager, hands shaking, yanked the cage door open.
In an instant, the tiger lunged. Its massive body was crashing down like a mountain. With a single savage bite, Suval’s manager barely managed a scream before he was torn apart by the beast.
The tiger prowled forward, bones cracking between its jaws, blood dripping in a steady trail across the floor as it emerged from the shadows into the blinding lights of the arena.
Lethal intent hung in the air.
O-Orpheus- One of Orpheus’s men started to speak, but when he glanced over his shoulder, he went pale at once, scrambling backward and collapsing in a heap, his finger shaking uncontrollably as he pointed behind him.
Orpheus spat, “What, did you see a ghost or something?”
Orpheus stopped and turned back. His eyes widened in terror.
There, looming into view, was the tiger’s furry face, cold and unfeeling, blood-stained jaws still chewing as it started to prowl around him.
Orpheus wondered, ‘Help! Somebody save me!’
Everyone in the arena witnessed the whole thing, eyes wide and jaws dropping.
That was intense.
But before anyone could see the tiger tear Orpheus apart, a shar, commanding whistle cut through the arena.
The tiger, which had been circling Orpheus, froze in its tracks.

Just then, Stella hopped off the stage, casually unwrapping her hand wraps as she strolled over. When she passed Declan, she paused, shot him a sharp look, and said, “Come with me.”
Declan was so stunned by her sudden order that he couldn’t ever get a word out.
Almost on autopilot, he followed right behind her.
Soon enough, Stella made her way back to Orpheus.
Almost the instant she approached, the savage tiger dropped low in awe, submitting at her feet.
Stella didn’t even blink. She just grabbed a wooden chair with one hand and set it down with a heavy thud right in front of the tiger, facing Orpheus.
Phone, Stella said.
Her fingers, freed from the wraps, stretched out unhurriedly.
Orpheus fumbled for his phone, his hands shaking as he handed it over.
Out of the corner of his eye, he couldn’t help but notice the tigers tail swishing back and forth at Stella’s feet, and he didn’t dare even breathe.
Stella didn’t even glance up. “Password.”
Orpheus quickly rattled off the number.
Right next to him, Declan looked down at the tiger, and for a split second, the wild thought popped into his head. He just wanted to reach out and pat its backside.
The two of them locked eyes.
Declan froze.
The tiger caught on to his idea and narrowed its eyes, looking seriously dangerous.
Declan played it off, acting as if nothing happened.
Stella dialed the number, her gaze icy as she looked up at the VI private room on the second floor.
The call was answered almost immediately.
Get down here, or I’ll let Jaxon handle him, Stella said.
And with that, Stella hung up.
She casually tossed the phone back to Orpheus.
Orpheus fumbled to catch the phone, his face a mask of shock. Wait, how the hell does she know about the Knight family?” he thought, mind reeling.
Stella didn’t even bother to look his way. She just leaned back in her chair, eyes closed, chilling without a care.
As footsteps approached, someone took the seat directly across from her,

A middle-aged man in an expensive suit, with the air of a professional bodyguard, settled into the spot Orpheus had just left.
Fixing his sharp gaze on Stella, who was still wearing her black mask, he said coldly, “This is Knight family business. It doesn’t concern you, Miss.”
With that, he made the situation crystal clear.
I’ve got nothing to do with the Knight family! Declan snapped, bristling like a porcupine.
But the middle-aged man didn’t give Declan the time of day, obviously seeing him as nothing more than a kid to ignore.
Stella idly spun the hairpin between her fingers, a smirk tugging at her lips. “What a shame.”
The middle-aged man asked, “What’s a shame?”
Stella’s voice was calm and firm. “I promised someone I’d protect him.” She pointed the hairpin right at Declan.
His expression turned icy. “So you’re really going to challenge the Knight family—”
Stella raised her hand, cutting him off. “Let me set you straight. m here for your master, not the Knight family.”
Her smile was cool, never reaching her eyes.
Stella said, “He is still kicking, after all.”
The middle-aged man was stunned speechless.
The middle-aged man sat in silence for a while and said, “The Knight family isn’t a name you can afford to provoke!”
Stella arched an eyebrow, the hairpin in her hand coming to a dead stop. She leaned in, casual but full of authority. “If I decide to fight, the whole world is just ants for me to crush beneath my feet!”
She spoke slowly and clearly, making sure he felt every syllable it home.
A dark, overwhelming aura rolled off Stella as she stared him down, her eyes cold as ice. The middle-aged man felt like his heart had been frozen solid. He literally forgot to breathe for a second.
Stella rose to her feet, and the tiger got up, too, shaking out its fur.
Go back and tell your master that if he pulls something that dirt again, he can face me in Jaffina! Stella said.
Those last words hit like a warning, loaded with meaning.
The middle-aged man sprang to his feet. “Miss-”
Before he could finish, a glint of light sliced through the air righ by his neck.
