Landen hesitated, still caught up in that familiar feeling. “Uh. Dr. Miracle, I saw a plant in your garden.”
“Hmm?” Stella looked up slowly, her tone lazy. As she spoke, she handed Landen the rest of the Compendium of Medicinal Plants she’d just finished.
“Wait. What?” Landen just stopped talking. He was completely motionless.
Lucas, his cheeks all squishy, reached out and gave Landen a poke. Landen, still clutching the book, keeled over like a statue and passed out again.
Everyone fell into short silence. Then, everything turned into chaos again.
“Dr. Miracle… Landen was flipping through the pages like a madman, tears of pure joy streaming down his face.
Landen thought, ‘It’s the Compendium of Medicinal Plants. For eal! And it’s the fully decoded, two-volume set.
Landen was like someone had hit his turbo button, words tumbling out in a rush. “From this day forward, Dr. Miracle, you’re the greatest benefactor the Trent family has ever had.
“When I get home, I’m setting up a shrine for you, putting your statue in our family chapel, and making sure everyone pays homage. Dr. Miracle, you deserve to be worshipped by the whole Trent family.”
Stella was utterly confused. ‘What’s with this shrine nonsense?’ she thought.
Stella shot a look past Landen, landing right on Nathan, who looked so mortified he probably wished he could tape Landen’s mouth shut. “Is this seriously how the Trent family says thank you?” Stella teased.
Nathan didn’t know what to say. He thought, ‘Nope. You’ve got it all wrong. Normally, we just hand over cash.
Landen was still rambling about shrine staff when Stella snapped her fingers right next to his ear, finally snapping the old man out of his happy daze.
Her voice was cool and lazy as she asked, “So, who did you say you wanted to challenge again?”
That was when Landen suddenly remembered why they’d come to the island in the first place. His eyes went wide with fury. “Those old bastards from the Traditional Medicine Association!”
“Traditional Medicine Association?’ Stella thought to herself.
Stella took a wet wipe from Jake, cleaned her hands, then suddenly remembered something and turned to Landen. “Hold on a sec.” She pulled out her phone and shot a quick message to Cedar.
Shark: [Send me Creed’s number.]
If she remembered correctly, the Traditional Medicine Association was affiliated with the Dorestan Medical Alliance. Soon, the number popped up on her phone, and Stella didn’t hesitate dial right away.
Meanwhile, back in Jaffina, at the Clusia Division of the Doresta Medical Alliance, Creed was right in the middle of a meeting when his phone rang.
Creed, usually calm, suddenly jumped to his feet, even knocking over his teacup. “Ms. Carter, it’s Creed. Just tell me what you need. I’m at your service.”
Everyone in the room was left gaping in disbelief. ‘Who on earth is this Ms. Carter? Who could make Mr. Gibson humble

Creed stammered, “Yes, I understand. I’ll have the files sent over right away.” Not even bothering with the meeting, he hurried out, urgently instructing his secretary to send Stella every bit of info on the Traditional Medicine Association in Haliville.
By the time he was done, Creed was sweating bullets. Suddenly, he hurriedly grabbed his phone and fired off a text to the director of the Traditional Medicine Association in Haliville, telling him to be extra careful today.
They could not afford to offend Stella. For some reason, Creed’s heart was racing. He just had this bad feeling that trouble was brewing.

Back on Sandridge Island, Stella got the files in no time.
“Stella, what do you need all this for?” Allan leaned in, and Stella lidn’t bother moving. She just let him see what was on her
screen.
Stella said flatly, “Battle.”
Allan didn’t know what to say for a moment. Stella’s words made him even more confused.
Stella’s fingers flew across the screen, scanning through the files in a flash. She was practically speed-reading. Fabian just stared, totally blown away by how fast she was going.
Stella glanced at Landen, her tone lazy. “So, which of those old bastards are we talking about?”
Landen rattled off a bunch of names. They were all the most unreasonable, loudmouthed old geezers.
Stella nodded. “Got it.” She did a quick mental calculation, then said, “John, go grab the black makeup case by the bay
window for me.”
“Yes,” John answered crisply. Soon, he brought over the makeup kase.
Ten minutes later, everyone was shocked. Right in front of them Landen looked like a different person. It was like he’d just hit rewind on his life by twenty years. Even seeing it with their own eyes, their brains just refused to process it.
Landen gasped, “Oh my god!” He slapped a hand over his mouth checking himself out from every angle. “Dr. Miracle, you got skills. Man, I look amazing!”
‘It’s not that big of a deal,’ Stella thought.
“We’re about to check out the pharmacies those old-timers own. Stella said in a deadpan tone.
Landen’s original face would just draw too much attention.
Then, Stella looked over at Sebastian. “Wanna come? Oh, guess I forgot. You would never make it that easy for me.” She shot down his chance to tag along before he could even get a word ou.
Sebastian, caught off guard, looked momentarily awkward. Luca just blinked, totally spaced out. Everyone fell silent.
“Wait. You guys are already that close?” Allan tilted his head, eyes wide in shock.
Sebastian didn’t even flinch. “Get lost.”
Allan replied, “Sure thing.”
