Chapter 374

He stared at the girl’s back, his breath caught in his throat.

Allan was smirking on the other side, clearly enjoying Stella’s misfortune.

He wondered. ‘Man, seriously, out of this massive airport, you just had to hit the jackpot, in the worst way possible. With luck like that, you’re basically boxed the moment you land.

Why bother playing secret agent anyway?”

“Where do you think you’re running off to?” Stella said, her voice calm as she casually brushed the gun away from her forehead.

She spun around to face the insider.

The insider just froze, lost for words. A huge bead of sweat trickled down his face.

There are cameras everywhere outside. Don’t even think about getting away,” Stella drawled, sounding totally unbothered. Compared to the guy in front of her, who looked like a total mess, she was the picture of calm.

The insider let out a cold laugh. “Once that plane blows, we’re all dead!”

He thought, If I’m going down. I’m taking everyone with me!”

Stella just gave a lazy smile and jerked her thumb over his shoulder.

“Don’t think you can fool me into-“The insider’s words were cut short by a thunderous boom.

The roar of a plane touching down echoed in his ears. His eyes went wild with panic as he whipped around, only to see, through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, rows of passenger jets smoothly landing.

Right then, he realized he’d just made a complete fool of himself

“Oh, did I forget to tell you-” Stella said, snapping her fingers. Stella just smiled.

Meanwhile, on the monitor, Hyena was still slumped in a basement chair, looking totally spaced out and dead-eyed.

Suddenly, a hand darted in from off-screen. He gently nudged him.

Hyena’s lifeless body collapsed onto the keyboard, blood splattering all over the camera.

The insider was left utterly speechless. His nerves were about to nap.

“Young Sovereign,” came a cold, mechanical voice over the comms.

Stella said, “Tell Blade to drop Hyena’s head on that Chief’s desk. Tell him it’s a welcome gift from Sebastian and me.”

She wore a faint smile, but her voice was icy and merciless.

Behind her, Allan and the Yates family just stood there, silent.

Under her white shirt, those skinny arms the insider used to think he could snap like a twig, slowly lifted. Stella pulled a sharp pencil from behind her ponytail and spun it lazily between her fingers.

“Y-You can’t do this!” the insider stammered, panic written all over his face.

Stella just said, sounding totally unbothered, “Oh?”

The insider blurted out, “If you do this, you’ll put Clusia in a tough spot! You can’t kill me! Hand me over to the cops! No. give me to those soldiers!”

He jabbed a finger at Hudson’s men, who had just arrived.

He thought, “These guys are the real deal, righteous and by-the-book. There’s no way they’ll let her lay a finger on me right in front of them! That’s totally against the rules!’

Allan’s gaze turned icy.

He thought, ‘Now he remembers them? How convenient. Those ron-willed men who risk their lives every day to protect their people shouldn’t be name-dropped as some kind of get-out-of-jail card by scum like him!’

In Control Tower, the room was deadly quiet.

Everyone was glued to the screens, watching everything unfold.

Landen held back a sigh, glancing sideways at Hudson, frustration written all over his face. “Could you-”

He was just about to ask if Hudson’s men could pretend they hadn’t seen a thing.

But then it hit him that there was no way today’s mess wouldn’t get reported to the higher-ups.

Murray slammed his fist down on the table.

Just like Landen, he was holding back his frustration.

While everyone else was glued to the screens, Lucas came running over to Sebastian, his soft, pale face scrunched up as he looked up at him.

Sebastian just shook his head at him, not saying a word.

Then he gestured to his Bluetooth earpiece to show Lucas he was still listening in.

At some point, Sebastian’s face had turned paper-white, bathed shadows and light, looking so fragile that it seemed like he might break apart at any second.

This episode was hitting him way sooner than he’d expected.

Downstairs, Hudson heard the insider’s words, too. Right now, they were kicking themselves for showing up so fast.

If they’d just been a little slower, that scumbag who betrayed his own country wouldn’t have had the chance to take advantage of the situation.

“Sure,” Stella replied.

Everyone was on edge, bracing for Stella to snap, but then, out of nowhere, she just said those words.

Allan blinked in disbelief. “Stella?”

Back in the Control Tower, everyone was gripping their fists so hard their knuckles turned white.

Stella smiled, and she twirled the pencil even faster between her icy fingers.

Stella said, “But you have to give me the gun first.”

The insider took a step back, but when he caught sight of the soldiers in his peripheral vision, he straightened up again.

He snorted to himself. ‘No way she’d dare lay a finger on me with all these guys watching!”

Thinking that, the insider removed the magazine and tossed the gun into Stella’s hand. “Go ahead and cuff me. Just make sure you keep me safe, alright?” he said, his tone oozing with mockery.

‘So what if I betrayed my own country?’ he scoffed to himself. “They still have to protect me when it matters.

Thinking that, the insider actually let out a smug laugh and shot Stella a cocky wink.

Stella shot the guy a lazy look, a chill glint flickering in her deep amber eyes.

She coldly raised her right hand toward him.

In her palm was the same pencil she’d just been twirling between her fingers.

The tip looked dangerously sharp.

Up in the Control Tower, Sebastian quickly covered Lucas’s eyes.

Everything changed in a heartbeat.

It was like the insider had gone totally nuts. His cocky smile froze, and before anyone could react, he snatched the pencil from Stella’s palm with lightning speed and jabbed it viciously into his own left eye.

Instantly, blood sprayed everywhere.

Allan, the Yates family, and Hudson’s men were all stunned.

Stella’s face was stone-cold, not a flicker of emotion. Blood spattered across her white shirt and cheek; every drop belonged to the insider.

The insider was grinning like he was numb to the pain. He ripped the pencil out, blood pouring down his face, dripping off his chin, and splattering onto the floor.

Then, without a second thought, he stabbed it viciously into his other eye again and again.

Blood splattered. It splashed onto the floor, quickly spreading into a slick, crimson pool.

After losing way too much blood, the insider just keeled over, hitting the floor hard, blood spreading out beneath him.
