Chapter 415

A silver flash shot through the air:

:

Quinto didn’t even have time to react before a silver short arrow shot right through his palm.

The blood-stained arrow, engraved with a lion pattern, embedded itself in an ancient brown pillar nearby.

It was ferocious and merciless.

Quinto stared at the bloody hole in his palm, unable to believe his eyes. Then he screamed in agony, clutching his hand as he fell to the ground.

Emily held her breath and turned to look.

Even Cain and the others turned to the door, stunned.

They hadn’t caught even the slightest noise before that moment.

In the darkness, the man’s handsome features were cold as ice, like he’d just walked out of hell itself, his sharp eyes stormy and chilling.

He walked right past the people tied up on the ground without so much as blinking, stopping directly in front of Stella.

“M-Mr. Gray?” Emily gasped, her voice full of shock.

Stella lowered her gaze, tilting her head with a sly, knowing smile. “So, how long have you been watching?”

Sebastian replied, “Just got here.”

Everyone fell into silence. ‘Yeah, right. As we’d actually buy that,’ they thought.

With that, Sebastian turned his head toward Quinto. The air went frigid, and his face was so cold and detached that it was as if Quinto was already dead to him.

Stella rose with a faint smile, cold light dancing between her slender fingers at her side.

She raised her hand. Five silver needles instantly drove into the crown of Quinto’s head.

“From today on, the Herbal Medicine Guild is no more!” Stella declared.

On the way back, Emily was fast asleep in the passenger seat,

In the back, Stella idly twirled the short arrow engraved with a lion pattern between her fingers, a half-smile tugging at her lips.

“Lion?” Stella mused aloud.

Sebastian, caught off guard, looked momentarily awkward.

He just kept quiet.

He opened his large hand, revealing a classic lion-patterned sleeve arrow device.

Stella raised an eyebrow but didn’t press further. With practiced ease, she took apart the sleeve arrow and slid the lion-patterned short arrow back into place.

Then she handed it back to Sebastian.

“I’ll head straight to Jaffina tomorrow,” Stella said, propping her chin on one hand, her voice lazy and unbothered.

Houston had been texting her nonstop these past couple of days, asking when she’d arrive in Jaffina and saying he’d set the selection date based on her schedule.

Sebastian paused. “And what about me?”

Stella couldn’t help but laugh at his “mournful” look. “Of course, you’re taking Lucas back.”

Sebastian was totally sulking.

“I’ve got something to take care of at the last minute,” Stella said, raising her hand to placate him, her eyes still full of amusement.

Sebastian’s expression was just like a grown-up version of Lucas. Stella said, “Be good.”

‘No way, I’m not gonna be good,’ Sebastian grumbled to himself.

The next morning, in the VIP Lounge of the airport. “Did you guys hear about it?” one of them asked.

“Yeah, a huge fire last night wiped out the Herbal Medicine Guild,” another replied.

“That’s not even the half of it. Mr. Wilkerson totally lost his mind!”

The delegation members waiting for their flight were all whispering excitedly about the wild events from last night.

While not far away, Stella just sat there, cool as ever, swirling her iced coffee as if nothing had happened.

In front of Stella, Lucas and Sebastian stood side by side, both with their arms crossed. Lucas was pouting, while Sebastian looked downright stormy.

Emily was stuck next to them, not sure if she should sit or stand, totally caught in the middle.

Emily quickly made up an excuse, “Callum’s calling me, I’ll go check!” and hurried off to join Callum and Paul

at their table.

The plain plant was speechless. ‘Don’t go! I want to go to that table, too!’ it wished.

Lucas puffed up his cheeks like a little pufferfish and shouted, “Fish! Fish! Go!”

Since they were back on their home turf, the three elders were practically strutting around like proud peacocks, chests puffed out, and heads held high.

But Stella, who had just hung up the phone, didn’t even spare them a glance.

Stella got into the car. “Harmony Residence,” she said, closing her eyes to rest.

The three elders chorused together, “Yes!”

Two hours later, they arrived at Harmony Residence.

Aveline was sitting in the car with Sophie next to her. She’d called in a favor from one of her friends in the ladies’ circle, hoping to get an introduction to the person in charge at Rhaesia University.

They’d already been waiting outside the residence for almost two hours.

“Mom…” Sophie noticed Aveline’s sour expression and gently took her arm, giving it a little shake.

“They haven’t even bothered to send a single message, let alone come down to greet us. Rhaesia University sure loves acting all high and mighty,” Aveline muttered, her annoyance barely hidden.

Still, since this was about Sophie’s future, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and put up with it.

Sophie flashed her mom a gentle smile. “Maybe something urgent happened out of the blue?”

The next second, a crowd of foreigners, all dressed in sharp, tailored suits and rocking Rhaesia University badges, stepped out. Sophie couldn’t help but gasp at the parade of famous faces.

That guy in the bow tie was a world-renowned astrophysics professor.

He’d just won a prize in Physics not long ago.

And the one in the three-piece suit was the director of the ionic liquids lab, fresh off a speech at the United Nations, and had just picked up a medal from Yaloria.

Not to mention the rest of the crowd, every single one of them was a major player.
