But before Stella could say a word, a deep, haunting laugh suddenly filled the room.

Stella and Houston were speechless.

“Hey, little Shark,” Killer Whale said, leaning against his tough jeep with those long legs.

He tugged at his collar, his captivating gaze shining with a glint of starlight. “Guess what? I just grabbed another turf!”

He boasted like a kid.

A massive explosion went off right in front of them.

Killer Whale lit up a cigarette with one hand, holding it between his fingers as he laughed lightly. “Pretty cool, huh?”

He set the shark plush on the hood next to him, even straightening it up in a good mood, watching the carnage unfold before them.

Stella shot Houston a look, signaling him to drop the files and leave. Then she rubbed her temple. “Killer Whale, can you please act normal for once?”

But Killer Whale’s strikingly handsome face suddenly went icy. “Why don’t you call me by my name anymore?”

‘Is there seriously something wrong with your brain?’ Stella thought.

Not wanting to waste another word, she simply hung up.

Killer Whale didn’t say anything. A faint smirk played at his lips.

Sophie looked a little stunned.

“Is something wrong?” Sophie asked, her voice soft and polite, sounding just like the model student.

She sat up straighter, trying her best to look calm and obedient.

“The chief examiner will be coming to personally review your assessment,” the teacher said with a smile, giving Sophie a gentle pat on the shoulder. “You’re the only one out of all the students who gets this, Good luck!”

All around her, the other students were either shocked, jealous, or disappointed, but Sophie couldn’t hear a thing, Her heart was racing like crazy.

‘Did the teacher just say the chief examiner is coming for me?’ Sophie thought, totally stunned. ‘And I’m really the only one?’

“But…” the teacher continued, “you’ve been bumped into the last slot. Is that alright with you?”

Sophie quickly shook her head. “It’s okay.”

‘It’s just a bit more waiting, that’s all,’ she reassured herself.

“Good,” the teacher said, then turned and walked away.

Sophie stood there, heart pounding with excitement.

She couldn’t wait to whip out her phone and text Emerson: [Emerson, guess what? The chief examiner from Rhaesia University is going to interview me personally, and I’m the only one!]
