“What the fuck are you talking about?!”
Callum had been sitting there, totally defeated, but the second he heard that, he exploded.
He shot up and grabbed Sienna by the collar.
“Say one more word about my daughter not being mine and I’ll fucking kill you!”
Sienna had never seen him like this. She burst into tears.
She shoved the paternity test report at him. “Look at it yourself! I didn’t make this up!”
“The kid’s Rory’s, but she’s not yours! Rory’s the one who cheated, so why are you yelling at me?”
The other guys pulled him off her and passed the report around. Their faces all went dark.
“Bro, Rory really did cheat on you!”
But Callum refused to believe it:
“I took all three of our toothbrushes this morning and got a test done myself. That baby is mine and Rory’s. Stop trying to turn me against her!”
So that’s why he was in such a good mood when he came home. Why he wanted to take me on a date.
He’d already gotten the results.
Saying he didn’t get the test done–just another lie.
Ice–cold rage flooded through me. I was done. Fucking done with him.
Callum snatched the report and read it word by word.
When he saw the line confirming he had no biological relation to our daughter, he nearly collapsed.
But he still didn’t believe it. He grabbed the doctor.
“Your results have to be wrong. I want to do it again!”
The doctor pulled his arm away, clearly annoyed:
“Sir, we’re a CLIA–certified laboratory. We’ve processed over ten thousand paternity tests with a 99.9% accuracy rate.”
“What facility did you use before? Some strip–mall DNA place?”
Callum gave him the name.
The doctor’s expression said it all:
“Never heard of them. Probably unlicensed. You could redo this test a hundred times at any accredited lab and you’d get the same result.”
The doctor’s words hit Callum like a bucket of ice water dumped over his head.

Chapter 5
He clutched the report, his eyes bloodshot, and grabbed me by the shoulders.
“Rory, why? Why would you do this to me?!!”
“Haven’t I been good to you? Don’t I love you enough?”
“All these years, I’ve only been with you!”
“You got mad, so I cut off friends I’ve had since I was a kid.”
“I would’ve died for you!”
“And this is how you repay me?”
“Tell me! Who is he? Who’d you cheat with?!”
Our daughter didn’t understand why he was acting like this.
Seeing him so upset, she reached out with her little arms and called out “Daddy,” trying to comfort him.
He immediately shoved her hand away in disgust.
“Don’t touch me. You dirty bastard!”
SMACK!
Without hesitation, I slapped him across the face.
Callum looked at me in disbelief. “You still have the nerve to hit me?”
“Rory, YOU’RE the one who cheated! YOU’RE the one in the wrong, not ME!”
“You made me a fool! You tricked me into raising another man’s kid!”
“You came at me so hard earlier, I actually thought maybe I was wrong about you. But look at this!”
“Rory, what gives you the right?! How fucking dare you?!”
I stared at him coldly as he lost it.
Callum spiraled even harder.
His eyes turned red, like they were about to bleed. “EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!”
“There’s nothing to explain.”
I stood up to leave.
“Let’s get a divorce.”
