"Put some ointment on his wounds and tell him to leave right away."
Lizetta was taken aback for a second before a smile broke across her face.
"I know, I know. You're all bark and no bite, Grandpa."
Nelson didn't reply, simply turning and heading into the room.
With a light step, Lizetta returned to her bedroom. Just as her fingers brushed the doorknob,
the door was suddenly yanked open. A familiar large hand reached out, clamped around her wrist, and pulled her roughly inside.
"Ah!"
She let out an involuntary gasp. A sharp sting flared on her forehead as she crashed into the man's solid chest.
Before she could gather her bearings, the floor vanished beneath her feet. Remington leaned down and scooped her into his arms.
She instinctively threw her arms around his neck.
She looked up, meeting his intense, overbearing gaze.
"You..."
"Shut up."
Lizetta barely had time to part her lips before he cut her off in a low, commanding tone.
He spun around with her in his arms, the hand supporting her waist suddenly slipping away.
Feeling herself drop, she panicked and clung even tighter to his neck.
Holding her effortlessly with one arm, Remington shifted backward.
Before she could process what he was doing, the sharp click of the deadbolt locking echoed through the room.
Her eyes widened in shock. "What are you doing?!"
It was broad daylight.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
