Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1194

Remington chuckled. “Aren't you just worried that if I get caught, you won't be able to elope with me?”

“I am not!” Lizetta denied stubbornly.

He didn't tease her any further. After a brief silence, right as the sparkler burned out in his hand, he whispered.

“I'll wait for you.”

For some reason, her ears flushed hot. She gave a soft hum of agreement, hung up, and hurried back inside.

She practically sprinted into the bathroom. Knowing he was waiting right outside made her rush, turning on the shower in a blur.

She turned off the water, ready to step out, but then hesitated. Her cheeks burned as she stepped back under the spray, washing herself meticulously a second time.

An hour later, looking perfectly put together, Lizetta quietly cracked her bedroom door open.

She peeked out into the silent hallway. Not a soul in sight.

Tiptoeing down the stairs and into the courtyard, she crouched low and sprinted toward the main gates.

Dodging the sightline of the security booth, she waited for the perfect opening before slipping out of the estate completely undetected.

The moment she dashed out, she ran smack into a broad, familiar chest.

She had no idea when he had moved over to wait for her. Startled, she almost let out a scream.

Remington instantly clamped a hand over her mouth, took her purse with the other, and swept her off her feet in one fluid motion, striding briskly toward his car.

He yanked the back door open and practically tossed her inside.

The moment her back hit the leather seats, his body pressed heavily over hers.

Before the door even closed, his burning kiss captured her lips like a violent storm.

He climbed fully into the back, slamming the door shut with a heavy thud.

The sound seemed to echo straight into her very heart.

Before she could even register the shift, he hauled her up, settling her firmly on his lap.

“Why the rush? Are you that afraid of your family seeing me? Am I some dirty secret? Little liar, everything you said today about doing whatever I want was just a trick to get rid of me, wasn't it?”

Lizetta was utterly speechless.

His voice was dark and gravelly. The moment the words left his lips, another scorching kiss rained down on her.

By now, she had managed to snap out of her dizzying haze. She shot a panicked glance out the window.

It was just a guilty reflex, but to her absolute horror, the gates of the estate opened, and a figure stepped out into the night. Her entire body froze in terror.
